Well, this is embarrassing. We're sorry, but the listing tool isn't working right this second. Pleas
I've been trying to list drafts for several days and get this message
"Well, this is embarrassing.
We're sorry, but the listing tool isn't working right this second.
Please try again later."
I have called tech support and am being told they are working on it and it should be resolved by mid-May.
Is anyone else having this issue?

·5 months ago@eburtonlab 🤣 This was the thing you taught me how to do and I'll never forget it because it's so easy and so often just the ticket for a site acting weird on me (but clearing them for the whole browser SUCKS).
I should have suggested it to this OP first and foremost without tagging you. But I couldn't imagine it applying to their problem, what with the bizarre CSR statement.

·5 months agoIt's even easier on an iPad ... to clear the cache completely. Good help here. Thanks.

OP5 months agoI tried the new listing and that worked. There are also certain drafts that work., but most don't.

·5 months agoWhich listing tool?
Create Listing from Seller Hub All Listings is working for me.
I suggest you look for problems on your system.
Clear cache, clear cookies. change browsers.
Search for malware.
Be certain you have sufficient available memory and disk space.
Eliminate any VPNs.

Trying a different browser first is an easy next step. If that works better, then try clearing cache in the original browser, or possibly manually erasing just your eBay cookies. It is not necessary to delete all cookies, as that would sign you out of all your active accounts of other sites.

OP5 months agoHow do I just delete my ebay cookies?

In most desktop browsers, if you go to a site like ebay.com, just to the left of the page address in the browser address bar is an icon that you can click on, and in the drop-down, one of the options is to clear cookies and site data just for that particular site. In the latest Firefox the icon looks like a shield with an "x" in it; in Edge the icon looks like a suitcase.

OP5 months agoClearing cookies did not work. Some drafts are okay so I guess I will try and start from scratch. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions.

·5 months ago@zoop1953 If you have numerous similar items to list, you could just keep using 'Sell Similar' from the last one, and change only the item specifics/description that is different, rather than start scratch listings every time.
zoop1953
OP5 months agoI've done all of those. I will try creating new listings from scratch as there are some drafts that work.

·5 months agoWhoa, they said you won't be able to list til mid-MAY?
Hang on, where did you get the phone number for "tech support"? If you found it on Google it was fake.
And to answer your question, no I'm having no problems listing, just did some last night (auction, BIN, and scheduled). No trouble whatsoever.

OP5 months agoI asked for a call from customer support through ebay not from google

·5 months agoWell what they told you makes no sense whatsoever. @eburtonlab can you think of any reason an individual seller would be unable to post listings like this, without it being a punitive restriction?

OP5 months agoI have searched online and have noticed this has happened to others. Do you know another number I could try for ebay help??

·5 months ago@zoop1953 No there's no direct phone number to call eBay. Hang tight til eburtonlab replies. He's the tech wizard here.

·5 months agoMore likely issue involves something like a corrupt template or a corrupt draft (or several).
If possible, the OP should try creating a simple new listing from scratch without using a template and see if it is possible to successfully list that way. If so, the problem is not any kind of account restriction. If that works, then try to recreate the affected drafts from scratch one at a time and see if those are able to be listed.
It is possible that customer service was referring to a known problem that caused draft corruption, and the resolution of that issue or possible repair or recovery of of the affected drafts is not expected until mid-May, but that is a very odd time-frame. If I had items I wanted to list now, I would not wait for eBay to fix the issue given such a timetable if new listings could be made without using the existing drafts.

·5 months ago@eburtonlab Thanks so much, I can picture that happening!
@zoop1953 Try what he recommended, creating a listing from scratch and see if you can post that. Also please come back and tell us if it worked. Every possible problem on the platform is something we need to know about, in case other people start coming with the same issue.
