Website name on packing slip
Summary: cmyers1994 asked if they could include their website address on a packing slip for an eBay buyer. bennotbill confirmed it was permissible, while tobaccocardyahoo cautioned it might be seen as redirecting sales away from eBay, though enforcement would be difficult. ryry-jj and bdmh-enterprises stated that adding such information manually is allowed, emphasizing the importance of tasteful and legal communication with customers. Additionally, bashort shared past experiences with maintaining a separate website alongside their eBay store. Overall, advice was mixed but leaned towards allowing personal business branding within certain guidelines.

·1 month agoOne can see how different sellers interpret the policy, with those who think the policy allows inside a shipment of an order to contain information which would be deleted from a message you sent the buyer through Ebay.
Short of posts by sellers who have lost their selling privileges for such actions in huge numbers there will probably continue to be competing interpretations of what the policy is.

·1 month agoat one time we had a website set up with the same name as our ebay store, that will get some sales outside ebay with no policy issues, we decided a few years ago that It was to much hassle for no more than we sold outside ebay.
When shopping on ebay I sometimes will google the store name and see if they offer the item at a lower price on their own website.

·1 month ago · EditedIt just cant be on file and printed automatically when you print out the slip. But yes you can add a business card, write a note or hand stamp it on to the packing list...you can even have it printed on your box or packing tape

·1 month agoIt can be viewed as an attempt to divert sales from Ebay, if one parses the Ebay policies in the strictest manner.
That said, it would be very hard to enforce unless one of your buyers was highly motivated to see you punished, and perhaps not even then.
I cannot recommend you do that.

·1 month agoYou have always been allowed to exchange contact information with buyers after a sale. Once they buy, they are your customer and you can market to them however you like. More recently they have limited contact exchange in messages to 3 weeks or something after the sale, but you can send email, phone and web address' before that.
Sending marketing materials with the item is just fine.
