Does this mean that the seller can cancel and refund the order if a minor defect is found in the authentication process? I still want the item regardless, but so far the authenticator has not asked me whether I want it still, they've only contacted the seller...

·Jul 18, 2026 at 5:26 AMWhen this happens, it means the item passed authenticity but there's a difference between the listing and the actual item.
My guess is that the seller would much rather have the buyer be willing to take the item rather than have to take it back and resell it.
Since you want it anyway, just respond to ebay that you're okay with accepting it.
Interestingly, there was another post tonight from the seller of an LV bag for which they found a discrepancy.
Although it might be a coincidence, wouldn't it be funny if you're the buyer and your seller made this post:

I didn't know the buyer got a heads up before they even checked with the seller.

·1 month agoI've heard that sometimes they'll ask the buyer if they still want the item or a refund.
Also heard the buyer didn't have a choice if they still wanted the item or not.
I guess it all depends on the problem they found with the item?
