'We canceled a sale for your security' but still being told to Ship It?
Hi! I'm new to selling on ebay, I had an item sell last night and about 30 minutes later got an email from ebay saying 'We wanted to let you know that a recent bid or order for the listing below was canceled because of an issue with the buyer’s account' and 'All bids or orders from [name]'s account have been canceled and any associated fees have been credited to your account. '.
So far so good! I'm glad Ebay is looking out for me and I hadn't shipped the item yet! But when I look under my Selling tab, the item still shows as 'Ship It' and I have the button to print the shipping label. Of course I won't ship the item, but how do I properly cancel it? I don't want me account to get dinged for not delivering!
Tried to use the help link in the email but it just takes me to the help landing page and I couldn't find anything about this...

·2 years agoWith most of my purchases online I am a "guest buyer" .
I buy once and may never return.
If I give the site my cc or PP payment (preferably PP) I've done my part of the transaction.
I see no reason for a buyer to be a "member" from the buyer's point of view.
For eBay and for sellers there are advantages, mostly loyalty and possible future purchases.

·2 years agoGuest buyers are fine.
I get them from people who get to my listings from google, never have a problem with guest transactions.
They are typically better than the experienced eBay users with established account that know how to try and manipulate the system.

·2 years agoCouldn't this all be fixed if eBay stopped 'guest buyers'?
If someone wants to buy on eBay, they should have to go through the same process as sellers do in order to sell.

·2 years agoI got one last week. I usually get one or two emails like that a month.
I shipped my item out 2 weeks before I ever get the message from eBay.
I always get the email after item has been shipped a week or two later.
As you can see it's a generic email..."that a recent bid"....it was a buy it now and not an auction like yours.
So marking item shipped will not hurt your account.

OP2 years agoAh thank you so much! That's really helpful! Yes I was worried about getting some kind of mark against my account - I'll give it a little time and use those contact channels if needed, thank you!

·2 years agoYou have upwards of five days to ship -- although you likely have a shorter period chosen for Handling.
Take a deep breath.
You could Cancel, but that runs you the chance of getting an Out Of Stock Defect.
Which is a Bad Thing.
If you give the transaction a little time, at least another 24 hours, the mills of the gods will probably cancel the transaction for you.
If not, get in touch with eBay and ask for help.
The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.
