Warehouse Policy error blocking my listings (Legal POD seller using Printify/Printful
Hi everyone,
I am a legitimate Print on Demand (POD) designer. I create my own original designs and use official eBay integration partners like Printify and Printful to fulfill my orders.
I am trying to publish my products to my eBay store via their API, but I keep getting blocked by a "Warehouse Policy" error. It is completely preventing me from listing my items.
My business model is 100% legal and supported by eBay, but I don't know how to fix this specific warehouse/shipping policy conflict. My account was originally created in Germany a few years ago, but I want to sell in the US market using these US-based print providers.
(I'm a very good designer, but I've just started and I'm so confused. Please help, I'm about to go crazy!)
That's a logical question; if it's forbidden, how are they doing it? After all, local printing presses are doing it. Should it be forbidden for people living in the US and those not living here to do it, or should designers only be allowed to do it? That's not fair.
Thanks in advance for your help.

·5 months agoStatistically speaking, third party fulfillment creates a lot of problems for buyers. That is why ebay does not let everyone do this - especially someone in another country.
And speaking from opinion, ebay really doesn't need more "on demand" slop products. In my honest opinion, you ought to find a different product, or a different marketplace.

OP5 months agoI'm not shipping it to another country because it will be produced in the USA anyway. I'm a designer, a graphic designer.! If it's physically manufactured in the US and shipped to the US, is it being shipped to another country? I am a graphic designer in the textile industry.
Hopefully eBay will understand this difference someday.
have a nice day

Why don’t you just have a bunch of your t-shirts made up in Turkey and ship from there? The big advantage when you do that is you are in control of your order fulfillment. I have over 20,000 items in my inventory that are organized such that I know where to find each one of them.
Do this and all of your problems are solved. Easy peesey.

·5 months agoThe policy is about Forward Deployed Inventory.
eBay has had enough issues with sellers outside the US selling items they don’t have in their possession where they can control the quality so they ask sellers to prove they are dedicated to this before they let them loose on the platform.
Printful, Printify, all those POD options have had issues with quality and fulfillment and when it happens with an item bought on eBay, it makes EBAY look bad and they don’t want that.

Since your registration shows Turkey (Türkiye) but you want to ship inventory from the US you have to follow the rules detailed at the link above.

OP5 months agoOkay, but the problem is this: whether I live in the US or not, I am not the one physically manufacturing the product. All these manufacturers should either be banned, or everyone should be allowed to sell under proper inspection. When I sell to someone in the US, this product is going to be shipped domestically within the US anyway. What I don't understand is whether I am allowed to do this or not, because everything is produced locally. I saw the list you sent where it says certain countries are restricted, but I am not doing dropshipping or anything similar. I don't understand if there's any solution; the policies are very confusing. Is there anywhere I need to apply?

·5 months agoThe problem is you're in one country wanting to ship from another country.
You have to be approved to do it first.
That page above should tell you what you need to do.
