Visa Business Credit Card rejected for seller fees – North Macedonia
Summary: mari_reliques, a seller from North Macedonia, is experiencing issues adding a Visa Business Credit card to their eBay account for paying seller fees. They were advised by eBay Support to use a credit card instead of a debit card, but despite obtaining a suitable card, it keeps getting rejected due to an address mismatch. Community members, including mam98031 and fullers_uk, suggested ensuring that the billing address and other information are entered exactly as they appear on the bank records. Additional advice included trying to add the card as a backup or verifying if the Macedonian denar is supported. be924405 highlighted the importance of exact formatting for the billing address.
Hello,
I am a seller from North Macedonia and I have a Business eBay account.
For almost two months I have been unable to add a payment method for my seller fees.
Previously, eBay Support told us that our Visa Debit card was not accepted and that we needed a CREDIT card. Following that advice, we specifically obtained a new Visa Business Credit card from Komercijalna Banka.
The new card is active and has already been successfully used for an online transaction.
However, when we try to add it for seller fees, eBay immediately rejects it with this message:
“Please ensure that the billing address you entered matches the address on the card.”
The business name, cardholder name and billing address are correct and match the information registered with the bank and on our eBay Business account.
We have contacted eBay Support several times, but we are only given the option to send an email and we have not received a response.
Could a Community Mentor please advise whether this is a known issue for sellers registered in North Macedonia, or whether this case needs to be escalated to eBay Payments/Technical Support?
We specifically need help with the card verification for seller fees.
Thank you.

·3 days agoOne thing I’d check is whether the billing address is being entered exactly the same way the bank has it, including abbreviations, spacing, and the order of the address fields. Card verification systems can be surprisingly strict about small formatting differences. If everything matches and the card still gets rejected immediately, I’d stop repeatedly trying the same details and ask eBay to confirm whether that card type is supported for seller-fee payments in the account’s country.

·4 days agoTry adding your new credit card as a second back up card if it works in a couple of months time delete to original card, I had this a few years ago, I got a new card and ebay rejected it so I added it as a second card and waited, in the mean time I used the card they rejected through paypal on ebay and it works every time.

·5 days agoThis is something that you need to work directly with Ebay to resolve.
Sometimes the problem is a very slight difference in the information you have provided. Your name, business name and address have to PERFECTLY match each other. The slightest difference can cause the problem you are seeing. So look at it with fresh eyes and VERY carefully, you may see something that is different. It has to be a PERFECT match.

OP5 days agoThank you,
I've done that multiple times, but I will check it out and try for a few more times. I hope it will be resolved as soon as possible.

·4 days agoYou are "trying" what exactly? Reviewing the information? Changing the information? Be specific.
If your name is John Blue on your account and you have John C Blue on your bank account, that will create a problem.
If your address on your account is 123 Back Str, Air, NJ and on your bank account is says 123 back St, Air NJ, that is enough of a difference to cause a problem. Or if you are trying to use a PO Box, that is a problem.

OP4 days agoThis new card is business card (so on the card is my name and in the second row the name of my company). How should I enter the info? My complete name as first name at the ebay form and the name of my company as second name (surname)? I will send a photo of my card (the number of the card excluded of course).

·4 days agoYou start with your first name exactly as on the card and keep going until you run out of character spaces.

·3 days agoAs has been previously advised for you, it must match EXACTLY, NO EXCEPTIONS. How it reads on the set up of your account MUST be how it reads on your banking information. Name and address. So you have discovered your problem, now you need to fix it. It has to be a PERFECT match.
Sending the pic of your card will not help you. Getting the information correctly entered into the system is the ONLY way to fix this.
