    violation of govt issue items

Summary: travelmj84 expressed frustration with eBay for repeatedly removing their FIFA Volunteer items listings, claiming they violate the policy on government issue items. Despite being told by eBay that another listing of the same item didn't violate the policy, their items continue to be taken down. Responses from other participants suggest selling the items elsewhere to avoid further complications, as eBay can be unpredictable and heavily automated in such matters. Some participants shared cynicism about eBay's customer service and automated systems, suggesting the difficulty in overturning such decisions. Others pointed out the potential security concerns associated with selling official-looking uniforms on eBay.

I am so frustrated. I have listed 6 items Fifa Volunteer items. All have been taken down due to what ebay states is a violation of Govt issue items.

I have explained that none of these items were issued or given by the govt they are not like police uniforms or utility workers uniforms you need ID

Needless to say they still said no. So, I did what anyone else would do I reported the EXACT same item I had with the EXACT same title only to be sent an email that says

that item DID NOT violate policy. So, which one is it??? So I had ebay call me who I explain the situation to her for her to read me back exactly what I said word for word
(Sorry that's just annoying) then tells me it violates policy to which I say I know that's what you are saying and Im telling you that I have a note for the exact same item that tells me they are Not violating policy.

She just didn't get it and I ask to speak to a supervisor. It was going great until I got disconnected and no one called me back and I don't know what to do

Please advise I have tried rewriting the item and it keeps getting kicked back

FIFA is pretty strict about the use of their brand. I wouldn't sell these items on ebay if you want to keep your account active.

Considering recent events I can understand why ebay's "AI" would think Fifa is under government control or part of the government.

I don't know what to do

    From the eBay user agreement:

"we reserve the right to refuse, modify, or terminate all or part of our Services to anyone for any reason at our discretion."

Ebay is an automated system....CS is there for nothing more than to listen to you and point you in a direction this way or that way with no real path to take you away from automation. Basically they are your eBay therapy for the moment...you can rant, complain, ask why, demand attention, but in the end you are right where you started

I am not at all surprised. Just think about it, a "bad person" obtains official FIFA uniforms an uses them to gain access to restricted areas whereupon they go on a shooting spree.

When it is found that they were obtained on eBay there will be serious ramifications for eBay.

While the policy refers to government items it is applied in a much wider list of similar items than just government issues items.

From eBay's perspective at best it would be very bad press and at worst it would cost them millions to deal with when they are sued.

I doubt it. If eBay was that vulnerable due to the action of one of it's billion or two members, there would be no eBay.

You would have better luck arguing your points with the Block Wall down the street. Better yet, call the IRS on April 15 and see if anyone answers.

That is what this place is.

    They say no.

You say 'ok'... and move on.

Perhaps if you had waited until the event was over, it wouldn't be such a security risk.

Oh, man... you've been megged. ⚽

Well, I'd have to think long and hard about relisting them. Immediately, I'd advise not to relist them. I'm hoping that other posters come along with an explanation better than that one.

I'm frustrated with you. Good luck.

There is nobody home. Nobody to hear you. Nobody cares.

This is a 'system' that is automated.

    You MUST sell elsewhere. Period.

Honestly, I don't think there is any longer anyone at the wheel at eBay - CEO Jamie is off into the ether with his 'magical' dreams, most the C-suite collects enormous salaries to do basically what an administrative assistant or legal intern can do for about 1/10 the pay, and there is no real CS - it's all ai slop.

Don't argue with eBay about it, it isn't worth it. Sell them elsewhere. When their system pulls an item, it is highly likely to pull it again, even if an eBay employee says it is ok to relist, and you could end up in far worse trouble. You would then have a monster headache on your hands filing appeals etc. Just not worth it, they will sell elsewhere.
