Very high charges for selling gold coins and other precious metals 12.9%
I just sold 1 ounce of .999 gold. Spot on this coin is about $1750.00 now. That doesn't include collectable value. I sold the coin for $1775.00. Shipping was around $25.00 with insurance. So I would have came out at spot. That's until E-bay took out 12.9% on the sale which was $220 plus. My final amount was $1550.00. $200.00 under spot on this gold. I could have sold this locally for spot at $1750.00. So I lost $200.00 plus by using E-bay. My bad for not doing the research on E-bay fee's which are very high for coins. My suggestion would be (If your going to use E-bay) to start bidding at 12.9 % higher than the coin is worth or try to sell it elsewhere. I've been using E-bay to buy and sell for years. Never again with coins. And I'll be taking a closer look at anything else I want to sell.

·4 years agoYou have been registered on eBay under this ID since September 7, 2005.
You have quite a bit of feedback as a seller.
The fees are clearly shown to you in more than one location, including when you list and sell.
You have been paying fees at this rate for a long time, presumably without a complaint.
Have to ask what made you suddenly realize how much you were paying?
12.9% is the most common FVF here on most items.
"And I'll be taking a closer look at anything else I want to sell."
That's an excellent idea.

·3 years agoI've been on ebay here longer than any of you but I remember for the longest time it used to be 10% and capped at $100. I don't know how people make money selling gold on ebay, or anything for that matter!
