Verbal abuse and harassment by EBAY EMPLOYEE and no one will respond
Last week I was the victim of harassment and verbal abuse by a member of the EBAY Customer Service. I reached out the next day to report it and after 2 hours of calls and chats, not one person will tell me where to take my complaint or receive help.
Yesterday night the harassment got worse and finally I was told by another customer service member that I would have someone from their team reach out to me within 24 hours. I asked for a reference number and it took 45 minutes for them to provide any proof of our conversation. I saw this because my conversation previously had been erased from the chat history and my email was blank.
I spoke to someone today and asked for an update as I have not heard anything. I feel that I am in personal danger and unsafe. The customer service person left me on hold for 16 minutes and then told me I would be contacted within 48 hours but could not tell me who, how to reach them, or any explanation why I should believe her when the last person failed to call and help.
Ebay has my address, phone number, bank accounts, and I am being harassed by an employee and there is absolutely NOWHERE for me to report this and after an hour of begging for help, EBAY told me I was on my own and to look out for a call within 48 hours.
WHERE DO I FILE A COMPLAINT?

Whatever happened is way outside of the way they treat people, Actually, I am always impressed with the quality of Customer Service they provide I wish I could be that Cordial to people who call in with problems.. of Course like klhmdg told you a Majority of their CS is overseas, especially during the weekends. and after hours. You might have better luck calling during the weekday during regular business hours I honestly don't believe Your life is in any danger so calm down

My last phone call got a helpful woman, who was extremely embarrassed because I mentioned the chickens crowing in the background of our call.
Probably in the Philippines since that is where the overseas call centre is based. And they too work from home, I guess.

The transcript is important, because it is a written record of both sides of the conversation.

·2 years agoHello- Sorry to hear they upset you so bad. Your asking for answers.
What I do every time I need help and it seems to work.
Go to the chat screen. Type in exactly like this.
I need Live help to call me on the telephone.
It will respond back with OK someone will call you within so many minutes.
I get a call back at the time it says it will come.
Your right they know everything about you. The chat will even confirm the last 4 of your phone number that someone is calling you at. Its the number on your acct.
If I go on the chat between 9-5 M-F , it seems someone from the US calls me.
The Chat screen is a computer - not a person. It understands the word telephone call.
Hope this helps.

·2 years agoYou can try and get authorities involved, but they can't really do anything.
Literal cities in India that the police protect the scam call centers.
You should never try and reach a company by Googled information, always directly from their website.
You can use some third party legitimate services like the BBB if you feel your concerns aren't being address. This typically gets an "executive support" agent to respond
If money isn't an issue you can always have a lawyer draft a legal letter to open up communication.

The call centres are in Utah (US business hours) and in the Philippines (when the Utah centre is closed).
Not in India.
The clerks are generally regarded as poorly trained and mostly anxious to get you off the phone so they can move to the next call and fill their daily quota.
There is a Help and Contact link at the bottom of this page.

Most Seller problems come down to Unpaid Items.
Requests for Return or Refund.

I have reference numbers provided to my ticket and complaint that are not attached to ANYTHING. They were simply made up.

It certainly seems that they have a pretty thick wall of defense before actually speaking with a customer and providing a place to file a complaint. I have been with EBAY 22 Years and have a perfect rating.

·2 years agoIt has not been possible to call eBay directly for well over two years now. So, you did not call eBay.
Whatever scammer you did call now has all sorts of account and personal information that you gave him voluntarily, and it is information that is not available to eBay CSRs.
No one at eBay is harassing you, because you never were in contact with eBay. No one at e4Bay can help you, because you were never in contact with eBay.
All you can do now is (1) everything you can think of to protect your eBay account, which you compromised and (2) contact you local law enforcement and ask for advice on how to proceed from there.

OP2 years agoYes, I am sure. I have gone through their site, chats, app, and email.
This is 100% authentic EBAY.
They are also 100% impossible to get a hold of and 100% have not kept their word during any part of this ordeal. They have made plenty of promises on the phone and chat of which I have recordings, however not a single person from Ebay has made themsevles available to me.
fashunu4eeuh
·2 years agoSo sorry this happened to you. To register a complaint, first, I urge you to stop calling the overseas CS, because they have no authority to help with something like this, and they are famously unreliable. No one is going to call you back--they are known to give out incorrect information. Next, be sure that it is actually customer service or eBay employees responsible for the harassment. Like @lazarustradingco posted, there are clever scams out there, pretending to be someone they are not. What makes you believe it is eBay employees? What happened exactly? More info will help us help you.
So instead instead of calling, get in touch with the good reps at eBay's Twitter or Facebook for Business page. Send them a brief outline of the issue in a private message. Someone will get back to you, usually within a couple of days. Or, you can use the Help & Contact link on most eBay pages and follow the prompts. They do phone members from there, or there is the chat feature.
Finally, you can bypass eBay altogether and make a police report, which would be my choice. There is always the possibility that eBay will not get involved. But they will respond to the authorities. Good luck and I wish you well.
klrking
OP2 years agoI am trying to get EBAY involved.

I am not trying to find Bigfoot or Hack the CIA for proof of aliens. I am scouring the web, message boards, subreddits, and there is simply no useable knowledge on how to get a hold of these people and whom is responsible when a customer has a problem with an employee.
Nobody is perfect.
Sometimes the issue you're having doesn't have a nifty box with 200 solutions prewritten for typical problems.
Where are they when someone actually needs them?

·2 years agoWhat was the phone number that you called? If you got that phone number online and outside of eBay itself as @albertabrightalberta said, you most likely contacted a scammer who is now trying to get information on you.
If you gave the person on that phone any personal information regarding your eBay account that could compromise your account, I would suggest that you immediately change your password.
Hopefully you didn't give out any other personal information to that most likely scammer... there are plenty of them out there.
Never call a number that you Google unless you are absolutely sure that it is accurate.
