Started to move stuff to my new place at the beginning of May. Haven't been able to list anything new because of the move with packing and other things going on.
I did put my listings on time away for about a week so I could move the big stuff and get the Internet working
again.
You see I should have been really organized for this move and marked all the eBay boxes but I didn't. I have an idea kind of where things are. And I did go through stuff, donated things and trashed others at least.
I'm afraid to send offers to watchers for fear that I'd have to look through many boxes to find the item.
I am sort of glad in a small way that there hasn't been any sales. I know this is crazy right? But I am just exhausted.
Feel free to share your moving experience or comment or not. I will most likely not respond while I finish up moving but I'll try to like your comments if I have the time.

·4 months agoI should tell you everything i've been going through for over 9 months but I'm too lazy to type it all.
What you are going through is a walk in the park.
Good luck with the move.

·4 months agoI downsized two years ago from a 3-story townhouse into a mother-in-law apartment, so I feel your pain. I knew where all my products were though and kept them together the entire time (they are in bins and boxes). It took months because we renovated the entire building first and then moved so I would put the store on vacation mode, sometimes with sales and others I turned the sales off. I was actually in the building during renovation. I don't recommend that. 🤣
In your case, I would put the store on vacation mode, one month at a time (turning it off and then back on again) and confirm your inventory before turning it back on again. You don't want to be unprepared for any sales.
Good luck to you in your new place! BTW, my sales have been a little slower in May and I'm enjoying it because I'm in an art contest (online) and meeting up with fabulous new artists, painting, referring them to a gallery owner I know and just having a blast.

·4 months agothat sounds really nice. I have a stack of photos I want to recreate with pastels but haven't in a while. It's not easy because I am so amateuish. I have one I want to redo entirely.

·4 months agoIt has really been fun! I consider myself very amateurish but somehow I've made it into the top 20 and now the top 15 in my group (there were initially 88-90 in each group), but there are over 2,000 groups! I highly doubt that I will make it further than this round, (top 10 in each) but I do it for myself, or gifts.
You should get your paints out and do it! There's no time like the present and it's really nice to step away from the computer and do something you truly enjoy.

·4 months agoThere's no way that I would just have listings on time away for a week - those suckers would all be delisted, and then relisted when I'm settled in and then done only when I have the items in hand to verify everything is still there and in original condition.
I go through this once a year when I move overseas for months and AMAF, I just finished relisting everything yesterday - I was gone for almost five months. With time away for only a month, it's easy to just re-activate as you go through your inventory, particularly with less than 200 listings.
Edited for fat fingers.

·4 months agoI would not list anything until get settled and organized for fear you did list something and sell it but no longer have in your possession. That would cause issues with the buyer as well as your reputation on any site.

·4 months agoWhen I moved across the state, I got pink notebook paper just for my eBay inventory. As I packed each box, I listed every item going into that box. At my new place, I had the movers place all the boxes with the pink labels against one wall with the labels showing. I had no problems finding anything.

·4 months agoVent: Moving. No Sales in May. Kind of Happy?
So what is the "vent"?
Are you venting that you are moving?
Are you venting because there no sales?
Are you venting that you are kind of happy?
Are you venting because you were not prepared for the move?

·4 months agoI took "vent" to mean "something happening to me and I wonder about other seller's experiences".
Got good advice from others.

OP4 months agoMy vent/post was mostly about moving, packing, unpacking and not preparing properly for the move. Just overwhelmed by it all.

·4 months agoI would have piled it all in the driveway and burned it. ::joking/not joking::

·4 months agoHere's what I would do:
First I would have been more careful with my eBay inventory during the move.
Put your entire store on time away.
Organize your inventory and KNOW where to locate each and every item, making sure that none of you active listings ended up at goodwill.
Then and only then end time away

OP4 months agoI am hoping not to move again for a little while and I have learned my lesson!

·4 months agoI agree with authentic*vintage, You need to know exactly where your merchandise is or you could run into a lot of problems if you sell them & can't locate them to ship them!, Take them down until you are much better organized.
catjewels9876
OP4 months agoThat would have been the smart thing to do!

·4 months agoIf you have any suspicion that you wouldn't be able to locate an item, I would personally end them all and come back and sell similar once I could put hands on each item.
If I had to move at this point, I don't even know what I would do.
catjewels9876
OP4 months agoYes I should have did what you have suggested putting on more time away and ended listings. Still no sales and I am at the point where unpacking has begun. I should be okay with finding inventory. I always seem to do things backwards! LoL.
