USPS "NON-DELIVERY "no secure delivery location"
Summary: bproulx is concerned about a package that USPS claims couldn't be delivered due to "no secure delivery location." Despite seeing a suitable delivery spot on Google Maps, the buyer hasn't responded to messages or picked up the package. albertabrightalberta suggests that if the package is returned, a partial refund excluding shipping costs might be fair. caldreamer mentions that package interception is possible for a fee. mkaczorsee advises patience, noting it might be a weekend delay, while 1786davycrockett humorously suggests a dog might have deterred delivery. inhawaii believes the issue will resolve itself if it's the buyer's responsibility.
USPS claims they attempted to deliver a package to buyer on 25 Sept. Claims "NO SECURE DELIVERY LOCATION". Which does not seem right. I Google Maps the location of the buyer's address.. You can clearly see a "overhang," and a close-up is clear. I messaged the buyer on 25 September. Buyer did not pick upthe package or per USPS website initiate a re-delivery on 26 September, with no response. Buyer did not pick up the package on 26 September and the website is still waiting for a response from the buyer. I do not want to wait 15 days for a return. I belive I can initiate a returnn to sender.not

I would just let it play out.
If it is returned "no secure delivery location" that's the buyer's fault, not yours.

·2 weeks ago@bproulx Maybe the buyer has a huge, vicious dog guarding the yard -- I wouldn't deliver, either.

·2 weeks agoIt’s a weekend. Not everyone is on a computer 24/7.
Buyer will pick up their package when convenient for them.
I don’t think posting their address is appropriate…but, just my opinion.

·2 weeks agoUSPS package incept will cost you $19.45. This usually works best if you do intercept immediately after shipping package.
Also, be aware if USPS cannot deliver this package it will automatically be returned to you.

If the package is returned to you because it isn't picked up or because USPS can't deliver, the buyer will have lost their MBG protection.
If the item is returned to you, you aren't obligated to issue a refund, my opinion is that you shouldn't get to keep both the item and the buyer's money. I think the right thing to do would be to issue a refund of the net after deducting shipping and any uncredited fees.
Personally, I wouldn't even contact the buyer. The post office may have delivered and forgotten to scan or the buyer may have picked it up and tracking wasn't updated.
You can be sure you'll hear from the buyer eventually if they don't get their item.
