USPS acceptance scan delays and winter storms causing late shipment defects, need guidance
Hello everyone,
I’m a high-volume seller and I’m currently trying to resolve an issue with a large number of late shipment defects that appeared on my account.
Many of these defects appear to be related to carrier acceptance scan delays that started around January 25, when several post offices experienced operational disruptions that caused significant delays in mail processing. Packages that were shipped within my stated handling time often received their first carrier scan much later than when they were actually dispatched.
Additionally, another winter storm around February 22 caused further disruptions in postal transportation and processing, which again resulted in delayed carrier scans.
Some defects have already been removed after contacting support, which I truly appreciate, but many still remain even though the orders were shipped on time.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with USPS acceptance scan delays affecting late shipment metrics, and were you able to get these defects reviewed or removed in bulk?
If any moderator or eBay team member could help review this situation or escalate it to the appropriate team, I would truly appreciate it. Many of these defects are connected to the same carrier delay period beginning January 25.

If your items are shipped on time and delays are due to USPS, I would state things like that in the appeal.
This system is AI automated and the majority of the time will be approved.

OP6 months agoMost of them are getting rejected mainly because it’s AI. The issue is the Post Office delays during the winter storm. I made several trips through Brooklyn and some of the open Post Offices were accepting packages but warning me that trucks wouldn’t arrive soon. Consequently, packages will be held until the truck picks them up which is unfortunate given my low defect level.

·6 months agoI have no problems with my PO's delayed acceptance scans because my handling time is long enough to handle it.
I am in one of the 60% of POs with one trip per day to the first distribution center. And I refuse to take all my packages to the PO and wait for a clerk. USPS pickups are not scanned here.
