Using the feedback removal tool just made my situation worse
Somebody left a bizarre feedback in Spanish that was just their name and address. As far as I can tell it matched where I sent the item (that was successfully delivered). Obviously I didn't alter the label I just mailed it to the Puerto Rico address I was provided. Most people seeing this feedback would realize that it is strange and not judge me for it but I thought I would request to remove it anyway. I used the reason that there was personal information it because that seemed to match pretty well since they put their name and address. However the feedback removal tool just deleted the comment but left the negative feedback so now I feel like it looks even worse than before.
I haven't been able to request a call back from eBay in a few weeks (using the automatic chat asking for a call back) It only gives me the option to send an email so I just did that and I'm not sure if it will go anywhere.
I guess I am just venting.

·2 years agoI had similar but luckily after pointing out it went against an eBay policy they removed the rest.
It is worse when they just remove the comment because it also removes the option to reply to it.

·2 years agoAs a reply to the "--" negative feedback which YOU are allowed to do: say something like there was a language problem of sorts and buyer was finally happy and lived happily ever after with my wonderful product....blah blah blah...something cool you can write in...Be creative.
The "--" cannot be removed...only by buyer...who probably doesn't translate English very well...in 30 days only.
Customer service is for lonely people who want someone to talk to....customer service will not be of much help.

I beg to differ with your assessment of Ebays Customer service. I had two serious issues that took 11 days and 6 different supervisors and account specialists to fix. They even went so far as to calling me back so i did not have to deal with the first agent that answers when you call. They spent all the time it took and wrote 4 different service requests tickets to fix the issues i had. I have nothing but thanks for ebays CS and how they treated me. That is my story anyway.

·2 years agoGlad you got help from someone.
"11 days and 6 different supervisors..."seemingly shows that first or second call to CS probably won't do much in this situation.
It also kinda depends on what the problem might be if it's fixable or not.

·2 years agoThat's actually not true -- I called when I broke a nail, and that eBay CS rep was very sympathetic and helpful.

OP2 years agoIf I can't get it deleted (and the buyer does not message me back) what do you guys think about this response?
"This comment was deleted by eBay to protect the buyers privacy because their comment simply stated their name and address. The buyer did not respond when I reached out to ask what was wrong, but their package was successfully delivered."

·2 years agoYes keep it profession
Maybe put that you will always strive to make a customer satisfied , or something along those lines

·2 years agoThat negative is undeserved for sure.
Especially wince we have no idea why it was a negative.
If that were mine, this is what I would do...
Respond to the feedback:
"Is there a problem with your order? Please contact me. I will make it right."
That makes you look good.
Then I would still try to get ebay to remove it.
Good luck.

·2 years agoAs stated the comments left in the NEG might have been deleted but the actual NEG will remain, for at least a year.
Hope it does get removed for you

·2 years agoJust respond to the negative stating "Comment had private/personal information and was delete by eBay"

·2 years agoWell your allowed to do that. Venting can be good for your mental health. Your feedback and sales seem good enough to overcome that negative feedback. Happy sales hope you feel better.😊

OP2 years agoThanks I appreciate that 🙂

·2 years agoThe neg only shows in the 30 day column, but does NOT show in your actual feedback...maybe it's disappearing (still being worked on?)
Although the 'new' thing is that Verbiage gets removed, but not the actual neg- so who knows?

·2 years agoYou are probably looking at FB sorted by "most relevant" instead of "most recent" @stainlessenginecovers .
stainlessenginecovers
·2 years ago@wastingtime101 ah yes- it was 'sorted' that way.
Boy, will this place EVER stop 'tweaking/changing' the way things are shown?
Feedback and 'Sold' Items both 'changed' how they are shown and you have to FIND and CLICKETY CLICK to get things to 'SHOW' how they should.
Fantastic!
