two numbers for size of inventory?
In the Hub it says under active listings "result: 1741". but it also says "qty: 1771".
I would think that means I have 30 duplicate listings but I'm dead sure I do not. There was a thread here about "ghost" listings. I wonder if that explains this? Any ideas?

It has been like this for years. It is caused by two things. One is if you use the OOS inventory function, then in your Seller hub it shows your OOS listings as active. The second reason is typically the renewal of GTC listings and the timing of it. Sometimes the numbers are just a few minutes apart for updating.
So the number of listings you show in your store is the number of listings anyone can see when searching your stuff. The Seller Hub will show listing that only you can see as well IF you use the OOS function in the inventory settings.

OP1 year agothank you. I don't use that feature. I also am still not seeing the smaller number others are seeing. I did delete about 44 listings so maybe those have not been purged from my number in the Hub? Dunno. I was just wondering what may be going on.

·1 year agoYour Seller Hub updates the fastest. It would be your store that updates after time to process the changes.
For me, when I look at your store, I see you have 1,711 listings.

·1 year agoIn my experience, ghost listings will not show up in your local listings - it's a quantity difference as above.

·1 year agoI have around 850 listings, quantity of ~1500, due to some items having multiples. I use OOS, so a buyer would see that I have ~650 listings, as 200 of my items have a quantity of zero. All normal to have those numbers not match.

·1 year agoI looked a few minutes ago (less than 15 minutes after you posted) and it says 1,712 items.

·1 year agoSometimes it can be the timing of items ending and then coming back on line again as it renews.
Most of the time it is for multiple items in a listing (4 available of a certain book for example).

·1 year agoThese numbers rarely match, as eBay has trouble counting stuff. I'm pretty sure this is due to an annual increase in system activity experienced during this period, which has caused processing delays.

·1 year ago@keziak That should mean you have some multi-quantity listings. Ghost listings would not reflect in either number in my experience.

OP1 year agoAs I said I would bet money that I only have a few/handful of duplicate/multi-quantity titles. Not 30.

·1 year agoWell, you said “duplicateâ€, I didn’t think you meant multi-quantity listings. It should be quick to sort your listings by quantity and see how many you have.

OP1 year agothanks for the tip, I did that. Way more listings with 2 copies than I thought. I guess it's time to print those out and check my inventory.

OP1 year agoI looked again and one explanation is how many woodworking DVDs I have in quantity of 2. I pretty much forgot that.

·1 year agoYou don't need to bet money, or wonder, or guess.
You can simply go to your active listings in your seller hub, and sort by "Quantity".

OP1 year agoyes, I thanked Jonathan for that tip

·1 year agoIf you have an item that has more than one in quantity, that would be the extra listings. The 1741 is the number of listings and the 1771 is how many total items you have for sale.
