Turning on 2 Shipping Policies and leaving one in 'time away'.
Had wrist surgery. Ebay stores have been in time away mode since December 6th. Can’t ship the big items. Wanting to turn ebay back on. 1,200 listings divided into 3 different shipping policies.
~400 USPS 1st Class Package and ~400 USPS Priority Mail, 2 separate shipping policies. I can manage to ship these using basically one hand. Would be good to go on these.
I have ~400 UPS in a 3rd policy that would be a problem to ship. These are larger, heavier items. I prefer not to go in and zero out the quantities because many of them have more than one as a quantity. Seems like a huge endeavor. Can't ship these using one hand.
Is there a way to come out of time away mode with the UPS shipping policy that has ~400 items, not active and those listings not available for purchase?
Open to any and all suggestions on how to get this rolling again. thanks
I did order the mountable packing tape dispenser someone suggested in another thread.

You could use the Out Of Stock option.
Turn on the Out Of Stock option
Bulk change the listings you can't ship to zero
When you can ship, reset the quantities back to 1
Keep in mind if the Available Quantities are greater than 1 you would have to keep track of the amounts in order to restore them back to the correct numbers. If the quantity available is just 1 then it's much easier.
When a listing is out of stock it's impossible for a buyer to purchase, when you restore the inventory you won't have lost your listing history or watchers and some watchers (or even just viewers) will be notified by eBay that the item is available again.

OP3 years agoI do use out of stock.
I suppose I could make a list of all the listings that have more than a quantity of one, note the quantity, then bulk edit them all to zero as you suggest.
I would also need to clear out my existing OOS's as not to confuse them with the listings I am bulk editing. Or make a list of those as well. I do have SKU's attached to each listing.

I used that method in the past. (not for 400 listings, but a good solution)

Well..... I found about 80 listings that had more than a quantity of one. Documented those. I am putting in some time on this endeavor because I will be stuck in this mode for another 6 weeks or so. OT on the wrist does not even start for another 3 weeks....
I also have larger/heavier items I figured will sell sooner than later already packaged, ready to ship. I have to go through the outbuildings and document the SKU's so I can leave those active. Going to put those in a separate shipped policy via another UPS selection.
My mountable tape dispenser was delivered today.
Thanks to all for the help and suggestions. I might have this conquered tomorrow, maybe. I have enlisted the help of my DW to aid in documenting the SKU's as I can't write legible left-handed. That is gonna cost me, she ain't cheap.

Took a LOT longer to recover to a point of doing simple tasks with the right hand. If I remember correctly, I think I had to put about 250 listings OOS. 80 of those were multi-quantity that were documented and then zeroed out. I then bulk edited the rest to zero.
Started bringing some of the heavy, not too tough to ship items back a week or so ago and then brought the rest back online this week. Business is picking up, imagine that. Back to 1200+ listings.
The one gotcha I hit were several listings that had variations with quantities. I forgot about those and they show as quantity of 1 in the listing screen so I had to re-inventory those because I zeroed them out without realizing the quantities, "underneath" the listing.
The other nice thing that came out of this was I inventoried the heavy items that were packed and ready to ship and put them on same day handling shipping via UPS. Just added another shipping policy for those. (They were lumped in with UPS shipments with 1 day handling.)
All the rest of the larger or heavier items, not packed, that ship UPS are on 1 day handling. Anything that ships USPS 1st Class Package or Priority is on same day handling because they are fairly easy to ship in most cases.
Thank you to all who helped me figure out this endeavor. Appreciate you all.

·3 years agoNo- you as a seller are either 'time away' or you're not.
You will have to either 'end' the heavy items- then back to business with the rest. Those items will sit there for 90 days, so by day 89 you will need to relist or lose the listings and have to start over (or relist for a few hours and then re-end again)

·3 years agoHi!
They could change there shipping time. I am having a procedure where my lung could collapse a week from today. I am planning to change my shipping time to 40 days & place my account on vacation. I am hoping it won't though & will get to come home the same day😊

OP3 years agoSounds serious. Best to you while going thru that.
My advice would be to put the store on vacation until you are actually able to ship. Take care of yourself first. EBay can wait.
