Trying to refund a customer
Good afternoon,
I need some assistance, I have a buyer that says he sent me $420 to purchase AirPod's and a birthday gift card. When I go to my Ebay account its not showing that I've received any funds. I am trying to cancel the order and send the buyer his refund back but you all are saying that I need to send him back the $420 and show proof so you can release the funds but I've the never received the funds. Can someone assist me ASAP on how the buyer can get his money back?

Suggestion...Take the best offer off of those air pods or you will be dealing with scammers again. Scammers look for new sellers with no experience to rip off.
Just list it as a buy it now, immediate payment required and NO best offers or you will continue to chase your money. You also need to accept returns. Ebay has a 30 day money back guarantee for all buyers no matter what. No returns does not mean no refunds. Accept returns.
Happy Selling!

Nobody has bought anything from you, and nobody has paid you any money.
If your item has been purchased but NOT paid for yet, it will be in awaiting payment: https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:AWAITING_PAYMENT
If your item has been purchased AND PAID FOR, it will be in awaiting shipment: https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:AWAITING_SHIPMENT
You can see the buyer's payment here: https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin
If the item is not in any of these places, no sale has taken place.
Did you give the buyer your email address or phone number? If so, any "payment" email you receive is FAKE.
Here are some red flags to watch out for.
1. Buyer asks for your email address, Paypal address
2. Buyer sends you a phone number to text/call him/her
3. Buyer asks you to buy gift cards to go with the order
4. Buyer asks you to send the item to a different address after paying
5. Buyer wants you to send the item overnight/express and will pay you a lot extra to do this
6. Buyers says that they cannot pay through the eBay website and sends you a link to click on so that the payment will go through
7. Buyer offers more for your item than the price you have it listed for

Good job! Thank you!
Your buyer is a liar and a scammer. You haven’t sold anything. So you wouldn’t be receiving any funds. If that buyer wants a gift card they can go buy one at any local store. Stop dealing with the scammer.

·3 years agoI looked at your listings and I don't see that you have sold anything. Do you have a sale confirmation from eBay?

Do not buy gift cards to send to a buyer.
Those who will ask for this are scammers. They do not pay.
Stop communicating with them.
