Trump Shoes that were released today for $399 are selling for thousands
Saw an article that some Gold shoes he just released today already sold out after a few hours. I looked at ebay comps and people are flipping them for thousands (I guess because only 1000 pairs were made).
This is not a political thread. Just thought the whole thing was crazy.

Another dis satisfied customer. The comments are starting to pile up:
AVOID THIS SCAMMER. Seller posted a picture of shoes representing them as the actual pair of shoes. *Note that the post did say photo at the end of post, but it is clearly a scam trying to get ppl to buy without seeing it. I messaged immediately when I realized and requested cancellation and the member declined it and marked shipped. Luckily I had already called eBay and alerted them to the scam.
More to come, no doubt.

·2 years agoI think you missed the point. As a seller Ebay has all kinds of rules that we must comply with. One of those rules is about Presale items. The listings we have been discussing here BREAK that rule or shatters it, depends on how you want to look at it.
Ebay's Presale rule is the item MUST ship to the buyer within 40 Business Days. These listings are no where near that timeframe.
Also some of the listings aren't even selling the shoes, they are actually selling PICTURES of the shoes. The devil is in the details.

As sapphire studio posted, this is NOT a political post. People's personal opinions really do not apply. This about 1,000s of customers or more getting ripped off with fake descriptions, chance raffles, photos of the shoes and posters? All violate eBay policy. These are virtual thieves that need to be taken down.
Let's keep this about business as this is going to affect many sellers here. The good ones. For once we need to support the buyers, as most are good ones. It's going to be one big mess and we'll get all the complaints right here on this forum. Count on it.
Have a great day and Happy Selling

·2 years agoScammers and thieves are commonplace. Some rather entertaining videos all over Tubeland about thieves and scammers being had by noble hackers.
With this particular matter of The Golden Slippers the source really matters. Sumac is an invasive plant where it grows from the root and then more spring up from new root versus seedlings.
We could throw in conjecture, conspiracy into all this for example and please don't think it's not possible.
One might ask what is Trump doing at Sneaker Con for example?
Is he there to push Golden Slippers or is there another motive?
Is a good area to try and sway voters or perhaps more nefarious whereby campaign management see's a thread to pull on no pun intended. Lets put the Golden Fleece out, watch the counterfeiting and scams staging for bringing online commerce fraud and counterfeits front and center down the pike into the campaigns.
These numbers are scary. As you know I read news. Just six days ago The National Association of Manufacturers makes claim in 2019 counterfeits cost the US alone 131 Billion and 325,000 jobs, globally estimate over 500 Billion and that was reporting from five years ago.
Its not a stretch at all that smart campaign management pull something like this into the fray. Let it boil, then bring it front and center at the proper time. How you think American's going to take to having it plastered all over every news outlet with him would be King expressing that he is both victim via The Golden Slippers and he will end it, all of it, bringing it all front and center?
I've said this before, Shop Safe began in 2017 as manufacturers and retailers found a friend in the White House in a businessman. In 2018 the fact finding and potential solutions began being crafted. If it were not for Covid, it already likely been addressed. Enter Shop Safe 2021 which would have wiped out third party online selling for the most part.
This is big stuff and a very easy sell to the public when where that money goes and the damage done gets displayed on every news venue going, likely globally. If anyone here care think the man has a single iota of respect for folks who go picking at yard sales, thrifts and beating up on retail via arbitrage more or less consumers well... I got two bridges to sell you.
So yes, you have to ask is it political? Why does a former President hit Sneaker Con whereby sneakers being the hot thang with just incredible amounts of counterfeits do so?
He was boo'd from what I hear and why would he release sneakers at $399 a pair on a limited amount of 1000 for a whopping $400,000?
Now there is no way he want's bring matters front and center right now but as we move closer to the election don't be surprised at all. The man will do whatever it takes to gain power and as his own former staff have said he won't make the same mistake twice in releasing power. If law here wasn't so convoluted and complex he'd been long gone be that good or bad can debate.
Believe you me up in the eBay board room unlike down here in the seller forums they're asking the same questions and MANY more no doubt as I put forth here. They're not, "Oh my gosh... Here we go with another whack a mole scenario of fake N95 Masks."
No they'll be asking the real questions, is there nefarious motivation behind a former President and now candidates actions and in that board room they want know every potential possibility of why.

I ask myself, "Yo' Self! If was who that is why would I go to Sneaker Con and yack up $399 Golden Slippers in quantity of 1000, $400,000?"
That doesn't even pay a Ducks quack of whats even being awarded to Miss Stormy Weather. Its not the sort of mistake of like mixing up the names of Haley's Comet and former squeaker of the house, Nancy Appaloosa.
Nations got really big problems and here we've example with Golden Slippers, The Pied Piper, The Blind Mice, Pinocchio, The Beanstalk, Huff Puff and blow the house down, Itsy Bitsy Spider and more warped, opps... I mean wrapped into one personality, well... Just make "ality" as I don't think person enters into the fray.

Will these shoes go through the eBay sneaker authentication? Think about it.
Who is the manufacturer?
What country? China? Russia? Mexico, North Korea?
Should there not be a UPC listed in listing from each size / box?
I really don't think these shoes exist and never will. If they were real, they would have 'T' & 'P' on them or maybe 'T', 'P', 'K'.

·2 years agoWhat I DO find surprising is that a. they only offered them for $399 and b. that they only made 1,000 of them.
Only because it is a fairly smart move.
The price is in line with "designer" sneakers from what little I can see.
The magrat can buy them with his pogey check, if he don't like his kids too much. (and is there a method of time payment?)
The "real" magrat will not be using stolen credit card so the money actually goes through.
And if they all sell for real payments, and are shipped in time, without chargebacks, the gross is $399,000.
This kind of sneaker is collected not worn, so quality is unimportant.
For sneakers with a production cost of $10 plus distribution costs, it's a smart deal.
Oh yeah.

·2 years agoeBay Pre-sale policy
Presale listings must clearly state that they are "presale" in the title and description, and guarantee shipment within 40 business days of purchase.
In order to protect buyer and seller guarantees, presale listings must follow eBay policy, including listing the date the item will be available to ship.
What is the policy?
Activity on eBay is required to follow this policy, the eBay User Agreement and all applicable laws, as well as respect the rights of third parties. If it doesn’t, eBay may take action consistent with applicable laws and the eBay User Agreement, and may even be legally required to do so. Such actions may include, as an example only: Removing the listing or other content, issuing a warning, restricting activity or account suspension.

Think about it, how many times in life have you purchased a pair of shoes for $400 and re-sold them for $5000? Just doesn't make sense, even at $400 that would be a tough sale, Trump is not exactly on top of everyone's list of favorite people... Yes I can believe that merchandise with his name on it might sell at a premium but thousands of them, and at highly outrageous prices?
Come on, not even the C8 Corvette got such ridiculous resale attention.
That said and having read the rest of the thread I am pretty sure there's some sort of scam going on here, but why would anyone even put down $5000 on a pair of shoes? I mean are they made of real gold, if so they'd better contain a good 2 ounces of it... I am glad there are folks here reporting this.

·2 years ago@mike_jayroe since these presales are "estimated" to ship in July, they will be long past any return period or eBay Moneyback Guarantee even on the off chance the buyer actually does end up eventually getting the shoes they paid for.
The resellers are not the ones at risk for getting ripped off here, it's the buyers, and it's absolutely ridiculous that eBay allows these listings to continue when they are clearly in violation of presale policies and pose significant risk of turning away buyers who will likely never come back to eBay again if they are left holding the bag when the shoes never show up.
