Tracking info
Summary: fan_zonesports raised a question about tracking numbers starting with 'ESUS,' expressing difficulty in tracking packages with this prefix, which had unusual shipping routes. caldreamer explained that 'ESU' indicates eBay's Standard Envelope service, not scan-tracked by USPS, and clarified its proprietary nature. thriftyfiftyfifty added that 'ESUS' is part of eBay's specific programs for shipping. Additional participants confirmed that the tracking numbers relate to eBay's services for small deliveries like low-value cards, and kus1617 suggested using the PB Tracking tool for checking the status of such shipments. fan_zonesports acknowledged the responses, noting the information was helpful.
Why are some of the tracking numbers starting with ESUS? The post office tracking numbers begin with 9.
In a span of 3 months I've had 2 pkgs that are stuck somewhere. 1 of them got picked up by DSL, went to Canada, then to Virginia where it is now. Both of those packages the tracking number started with ESUS. The post office is unable to look up these tracking numbers (ESUS).
Thanks.

Are you using the eBay Standard Envelope (ESE) for some of your shipments?
That's the beginning of the metered mail code for the ESE, which can not be traced by the post office.
Which of your sold items is your concern?

·2 weeks ago@fan_zonesports That's eBay Standard Envelope, which makes sense since you are selling some low dollar cards. If a buyer opens an INR case, you still need to respond to it.
Click here and scroll to near the bottom to learn how to file a claim if it comes to that.

·2 weeks agoThe ESUS Prefix indicates it is an eBay specific Shipping program tracked by eBay. Typically either the Ebay Standard Envelope (ESE) Program or the Ebay International Standard Delivery (EISD) Program (International Packages).

·2 weeks agoUnderstanding ESU Tracking Numbers
Here are key points about ESU tracking numbers:
eBay Service — The "ESU" prefix indicates that the tracking number is used for eBay's Standard Envelope service, which is tailored for small, lightweight items.
Delivery Scanning — Items shipped with ESU tracking are not scanned upon delivery, leading to estimated delivery dates based on scans at the destination post office.
Proprietary Format — The ESU tracking number is proprietary to eBay, meaning USPS cannot assist with tracking these numbers if issues arise.
Usage Limitations — Since these tracking numbers are specific to eBay, they may not be recognized by other carriers, complicating tracking outside of eBay's system.
