Toxic person posing as different buyers to harrass me
I've just started Ebaying less than 2 months ago and it has been a blessing in my life. It is really my only income at the moment. Unfortunately, I believe someone from my past has found a way to mess with me. A few days ago I started Social Media on Instagram and Facebook as I have never used Social Media prior to a few days ago. To try growing my business I have linked items from Ebay to Instagram and I want to do the same with Facebook. Within a day of making this link from Ebay item to Instagram a buyer bought a golf putter from me and asked me to cancel the sale. The buyer then bought the putter again and messaged me. Then they canceled again and there was messaging going back and forth. I canceled the sale again and the next day the same buyer bought the putter AGAIN and messaged me saying they want to cancel the sale AGAIN. They provided no reason so at this point I messaged the buyer back and blocked them from my Ebay account. By this point I was very suspicious because who does this kind of thing. Within an hour of blocking this person (from Mesa, Arizona) a new buyer messaged me about a pair of shoes I'm selling. I checked their Ebay history and it showed they just joined that day. This time Ebay shows they are from Michigan and the shoes I'm selling are Michigan themed. My hunch is people can write they are from anywhere they want. Since I just got done dealing with a troublesome buyer and this message came to me right after the harassment concerning the putter I suspected this buyer was the same person posing as another person. I told the buyer I did not want to deal with them and left it at that. This morning (the morning after this last message about Michigan shoes) the Michigan buyer sent me a few messages. They wanted the shoes. I figured what the heck maybe I was being a little paranoid so I messaged the buyer back. We messaged back and forth about the shoes finally settling on a price. I figured I was about to make a sale, but then the buyer canceled the sale themselves and began to message me providing excuse after excuse. I ended up having to block this buyer as well. I have the gut feeling the 2 buyers are the same person posing as different people. I don't believe this is a coincidence. I have people message me, but its not that often and these people were messaging me rapid fire. My question to the community is how can I protect myself from bad intentioned people if this harassment continues. I believe this person (who I believe to be someone who harassed me in the distant past, like 10 years ago, and now found me on Social Media) is going to continue to harass me because they are just a toxic person. I never did anything mean in any way to this person, but they harassed me via my cellphone like crazy in the past for no apparent reason. If anybody can help me sort this out a bit I'd really appreciate it.

·2 years agoSocial media is your biggest mistake. You information is probably being sold / shared more than ever.
How many scam calls, e-mails, and txt have you received? If not many yet, just wait especially with this being an election year.
As for your 'about' profile, just delete.
The less you share personally to the world is better.

·2 years agoAre you sure having a social media presence is worth not only the extra work in setting it up and keeping it current but also the hassle from an nitwit?
Here the minimum wage is 27c a minute.
Are you making at least that from your social media accounts or is it a time waster, even without the nitwit?

·2 years agoIf your social media accounts are public, you're open to all sorts of weirdos, trolls, and psychos.
If they're private, go through and block anyone problematic.
