Title: 90+ Days in an Automated Compliance Loop — Payout Freeze, Misclassification Errors, and No Resolution
Summary: julietsantidote describes a frustrating issue with unresolved account suspensions and payout freezes due to misclassifications of their products. Despite meeting all seller obligations and attempting various resolutions, their account remains in an automated compliance loop with over $450 on hold, affecting their business operations. lacemaker3 clarifies that the forum is for member-to-member help, not official eBay support. gurlcat sympathizes and suggests trying Instagram for more direct communication with eBay. mam98031 provides further contact options for eBay's customer service, while kensgiftshop notes a potential policy violation in one of the listings.
Hello Community,I am submitting this post as a formal record of an ongoing issue that has remained unresolved for more than 90 days. My account appears to be caught in an automated compliance loop that has prevented payouts, triggered repeated misclassifications, and removed a significant portion of my listings.
am a seller with over $1,000 in gross sales, 15 completed transactions, 12 excellent reviews, zero late shipments, and USPS Priority tracking uploaded immediately for every order. Despite fulfilling all seller obligations, I have not received a payout since June, and more than $450 in earned funds remain on hold.
My account has undergone:Two suspensions and two reinstatementsT, two firearm‑related misclassification flags on benign itemsMultiple automated “reviews” with no corrective actionPayout dates repeatedly pushed 30+ days outRemoval or disappearance of more than 60 listings
These misclassifications appear to stem from automated detection systems incorrectly identifying non‑regulated items as restricted goods. Once this occurs, the account becomes subject to policy‑based payout holds that cannot be resolved through standard customer service channels.
have filed two Notice of Disputes, as this is the only mechanism that triggers a human review by eBay’s legal and compliance teams. Unfortunately, I remain in the same automated loop. Most representatives have been unable to escalate the matter or provide case documentation. Only one representative, Robb, provided accurate information and followed proper procedure.
now facing serious business consequences. Without access to my earned funds, I am behind on my building lease and at risk of eviction. I cannot operate a business under repeated false suspensions, prolonged payout freezes, and the absence of human review.I am requesting that a moderator or compliance‑level specialist review the underlying misclassification and payout restrictions so this matter can finally be resolved.Thank you,
Jan

·1 month agoHave you read the firearms policy?
You have 1 sold listing that's a policy violation, you can't sell empty shells.

·1 month ago@julietsantidote Here are your options to contact Ebay directly for some assistance. I hope you get the help you need. Good Luck!
On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
Things have changed in recent months and Ebay is not offering customer service on any site other than Ebay and Instagram right now.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

OP1 month agoI appreciate your comment. Yes a nightmare. Should have been an exciting first experience. Definitely hope others don't have to experience this. I wouldn't wish this upon my Ex 🤣 I'm still placing my customers first and keeping my frustrations to myself. I might need boxing classes, anger management, an expensive therapist, straight jacket, and possibly a baptism and or exorcism after all eBay has put me through! Juliet 💕

·1 month agoHave you already tried the Instagram private message route? I'd say it's worth a shot, and at least the employees are English-fluent. If there's nothing they can do, they at least tell you straight and explain why. Plus you can screenshot anything they tell you, incase you need it for evidence or just to remember what you were told.
