I'm not sure why people have become so lazy.
I have a small business of buying things I advertise online.
I get probably 5 calls per week, but rarely any buys.
No one leaves a voicemail, or texts. I even made a message at the end of however many rings "due to the amount of spam calls, calls with no message left will not be returned, alternatively you can text this number".
Which is true, when you advertise your number you get a lot of spam.
Despite this, people don't leave a message or text me, I have to text them, and 90% are people trying to sell me things I don't buy. I even have a list on my site of what I do and don't buy.
Then texts just...fizzle out. I'll ask for another photo, a price, etc and they never follow up.
I don't understand why I feel like I have to lead people by the nose to get them to sell me something.

·2 months agoMany people who respond to ads for wants want a quick sale and know nothing about what they are trying to peddle and do not want to answer questions.
There are plenty of experts in many parts of the country who will buy all sorts of stuff, and they will either try or have tried them rather than leave a message for an unknown entity.
When I did house calls buying books, I would be called after the well known booksellers had been in and cherrypicked a library. Usually, I was suggested by their realtor. I got some phenomenal stuff and paid a pittance because I would take it all, something the well known booksellers would not do. People are lazy or just too busy.

·2 months agoMaybe they find a better option. Maybe they don’t like the way you communicate with them. Maybe they just get distracted. I doubt the most common reason is laziness.
