They have my $6.00 payment on hold ???
Summary: cinci5 expressed frustration over a $6 payment hold on a free-shipped, first-class envelope sale, fearing a loss if the item isn't received. mam98031 reassured them that holds are temporary and suggested checking further details on their Payout Screen or contacting eBay support. They advised exploring customer service options and provided links for assistance. cultureflips shared similar experiences and suggested customer service or USPS claims as possible solutions. Additionally, inhawaii questioned the lack of tracking, while luckythewinner clarified that holds are not permanent and advised against assumptions. The overall consensus was to remain patient, contact support, and consider feedback reliance for hold resolution.
Why is a payment is on hold, for a $6 dollar sale that I ship for free in a first class envelope.
If they say they don't receive it I ship them another one.
Now I wont get paid and the customer gets a part for free.
All these years and no issues.
I'm about to quit !!! EBay WTF !!!

This is not an accurate conclusion that you should be drawing from a temporary payment hold.

·1 month agoDid you have unusual sales activity like more than usual or less than usual then have a sale spike?? or did you have some items not update in tracking and now they're putting a sale on hold. I sold like 15-20 trading cards and then sold 7 or 8 more yesterday plus 2 bulk orders. they put 3 or 4 of my orders on hold but continued to sell more and nothing else went on hold. really strange. I always upload tracking and ship items same to next day, I was wondering if it has something to do with envelope tracking not uploading the same way. I think your funds will be fine since your protected under eBay's seller protection, if anything does happen contact customer service and they will more than likely release your funds or give you credit if that doesn't work open a lost mail claim with USPS your insured up to $20.00 so you will get your $6.00 back at least. Hope this helps.

OP1 month ago"Funds available within 24 hours of order delivery"
I shipped them first class mail which is what was picked for shipping there is no tracking. I've been shipping some items that way for years. If they say they never got it I ship them another one, no big deal, now I guess it is.

Yes but they won't receive a delivery confirmation because the customer picks first class mail.

·1 month agoIf your buyer leaves feedback, they will be given an option to say the item was received and that would trigger the release too. So fingers crossed they leave feedback. Fortunately we are talking about a small amount, while annoying, it won't hurt you if the buyer doesn't leave feedback and you have to wait a couple weeks for the money.
Just keep your chin up. All is OK. You WILL BE FINE !!!!

·1 month ago@cinci5 Take a breath. Because your money is on hold does NOT = you will never get the money. You are over reacting with this "Now I wont get paid and the customer gets a part for free." There are various reasons for funds to be on hold for SHORT periods of time. Just be patient, it will work out. And if you are considering quitting selling on Ebay because of $6, then there is much more going on for you than you are sharing.
When you look at your Payout Screen, does it give you any hints as to why it is on hold? Did you get an email from Ebay? On your Payment screen, does it say Processing or does it say your funds are on hold? Two different things.
Tell us more and maybe we can shed more light on why this may have happened.

OP1 month ago · EditedIt says "Funds available within 24 hours of order delivery" which they won't get!
And it's not because of the $6 it's that they make it impossible to get ahold of anybody and you have to come on here and rant and look like a friggen idiot. The customer picked first class mail which is the only shipping setting that I have set for the lesser cost items. ship it for free for the customer. I put item or items in a envelope, stick a stamp on them, take a picture of it and message the buyer that it's leaving now. I've been doing it this way for years to save the customer some money. If they don't get the item I ship them another one. Nobody is gonna pay for tracking on a $2 or $3 dollar gasket. It would be ridiculous, and I would never sell anything. I realize that they have their guarantee, and they can look at my record. I've been on here since 1999

·1 month agoFirst, it isn't impossible to get ahold of someone at Ebay. Often people don't look closely to see what their options are. So let me address that first. Save this information somewhere so that you will have it when you need it. The link at the very bottom is how to get someone to call you.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT or ask an Agent to call you, in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

From this link you can request Ebay to call you in the USA. The option is available when Staff is available to respond, so NOT 24/7/365.
