There is something criminal in that so many sellers are being charged for promoted items and had no idea there was such a thing. I never opted in for a promotion and I have been charged a promotion fee. I was stunned.
Together with the original fee for selling, my entire profit has been consumed.
How do I turn this off?

·8 months agoYou very likely missclicked 1 time and then after listing hit "create similar listing" relist your next items.
You can easily check all your items going into seller hub, active listings, click the box to check all items, edit, bulk edit, then scroll to the very bottom and hit promotions. It will show you every item, if its promoted or not, and if so at how much.
Simple bulk every item and click off promotions to remove all promotions.
Its absolutely insane how high a % ebay suggests to you. If you ever go with ebays "suggested ad rate" you will end up having total fees between 25% and 50%. I use 2% maximum or 0.
Hope this helps.

·8 months agoHi, EBays job is to maximize the amount of $$$$ that they can charge their sellers in fees - A sellers' job is to minimize the amount of $$$$ that they have to surrender to eBay in fees. When listing your items be very mindful of what you click on. Jus' Sayin!'

·8 months agoSince the change in determining what is or is not promoted, all of my sales have been in that category. I began promoting at 2% a few yrs. ago and was satisfied with the results. After each change, I continued to use that option for all listings. Today, and going forward, I will only promote when I deem it beneficial to me.
I do not criticize e-Bay for desiring to squeeze every possible penny from sellers; that's business.

·8 months agoYou had to have clicked on the option when setting up your listing or accepted one of the "get more clicks" offers.
eBay has not auto enrolled sellers into this program.
I see you have 2 items listed so it should be easy to revise each listing and turn this option off.

·8 months agoAt the end of each listing there are promotion options. Apparently you used such an option and didn't pay attention. eBay really steals through these options because it's really the same without using them.
