The Summer Sales Slowdown
Hey everyone... thought I would just encourage myself and hopefully others. Sales usually slow down in June and July into August every year. Don't loose heart don't give up. Keep listing, enjoy some life, do a yard sale. Source at yard sales. Just realize that USUALLY sales slow in the summer months it will be ok and sales will pick up

·11 months agoActually, July is not that bad for me, but August is really slow, starts to get back in September, and the sales go back to normal in October

OP11 months agoOur sales have been fairly consistent overall just a little lower than other months. July and August both tracked about $1000 total less sales. Not too bad actually

·1 year agoSales activity has always been a matter of an "ebb and flow" https://usdictionary.com/idioms/ebb-and-flow/ and what type of stuff you are selling some things sell more than other things and some things die the death of a rag doll ( slowly at first and fast towards the end" - the stuffing comes out). Maybe it is time to change your product mix or mixes..
This time of year kids are already back to school and in classes at universities/colleges and more north of the Mason Dixon will be in classes by Labor Day = another drain on the pocket book besides the strain of the air conditioner on the electric bill and the possible repair bill...
And folks take vacation don't buy so much - don't want feed the "porch pirates" any more than they have to..

·1 year agoIf anything mine are busier in the summer. My July sales were double that of January, and in some ways, the best month in a couple years, but i would actually prefer the summer months to be slow. I hardly got anything listed in the last couple months and being able to dump mixed boxes on the deck to sort is far better than being crammed in the garage. Plus, between 2 days a week of garage sales and 30 hours a week of packing orders, there is no time/energy to get ahead of the inventory pile. Winter is just too dark/cold to get anything done, but orders would be fine as im inside anyways.

OP1 year agoRandomly my sales have picked back up? 4th of July buying? Who knows... once again proves the point that we all need to keep listing, be patient. Sales come and go in the summer

·1 year agoStay positive and get ready for the Holidays coming. Hobby Lobby already has Christmas on the shelves. 🙂
Keep listing and improving, that's all sellers can do.

·1 year agoThat's what I'm figuring. Sales have usually started to pick up in July for me though as far as I remember.
