The selling of aquarium fish on Ebay
I have noticed that sellers of Aquarium fish on Ebay don't list the size in inches of the fish that they are selling. leaving you to guess by background objects. And the ones that state a size delivery fish that are much smaller. I've received several orders of fish so much smaller than they appear that I ether can't find them in my tank or became dinner for my larger fish. Which is why I need to know the approximate size in inches. I stopped shopping Ebay for fish because I never know what I will get and have spent Hundreds of dollars for fish so small that I can't find them in my tank or become dinner for my larger fish. I won't buy from ebay if not size not listed

·1 year agoHow about reaching out to the seller for the size? It is your responsibility as the buyer to ask questions before you buy. If the seller doesn't answer the questions you are asking then do not buy. The great thing about being a buyer is that you can pick which seller you want to buy from. There really isn't anything that can be done here to change a sellers way of describing an item.

·1 year agoThanks for the heads up! I would honestly suggest NOT buying fish over the net, but support your local pet store that sells aquarium fish!

Or does USPS have a dedicated piscine staff who do nothing but handle such packages? 😂

·1 year agoComplaining about fish sellers on this board is probably not going to reach your intended audience. I would suggest a more direct approach.
On every listing there is the opportunity to ask the seller a question before you buy. I would suggest that you first ask a potential seller to verify that his listed sizes are accurate before placing your order.
And rather that wasting money on fish that are misrepresented, if the seller confirms the size and then fails to deliver as promised, you should file a "Not As Described" dispute and get a refund.
The solution to your problem is in your hands. Be proactive and take charge.

·1 year agoA seller's feedback is a good way to determine which seller to buy from. If a seller has a lot of negatives and/or neutrals, forego that seller and look for another seller. If they have a few negatives, look at their feedback to see what the negatives are for and if the seller responded to see how they might have handled a problem. If their response is professional/businesslike, good; if nasty or accusing toward the buyer, don't buy from them.
If a seller does not have the size listed or if you have other questions regarding any products, ask the seller before you buy. If he does not respond, then don't buy from him.
If you buy and there is a problem with something you receive, you should contact the seller asap - before leaving feedback. Most reputable sellers will probably try to work with you for an agreeable solution. If you contact them and they don't respond, then you can move forward with a claim or whatever you need to do.

·1 year agoNone of us here can really help you with that. You will need to contact the seller in question and ask them and maybe politely suggest that they say it in their listings.
Even if a seller says in their listings what size the fish are, and you have other questions, you should always reach out to that seller and ask BEFORE you purchase.
If you don't ask a seller the questions you need answered, please don't purchase from them, be disappointed in the size of the fish and then leave negative feedback for them. That simply isn't fair to the seller.
Always ask all the question you need the answers to BEFORE you purchase.
Have fun shopping.
