The seller opened a case for a refund but his parcel is located in his post office
I sold an item and shipped it on the next day. I provided a track number on ebay app but it wasn't tracking because in option for carrier there wasn't my postage carrier and I couldn't find a Spanish post carrier. So, I just provided a track number. However, when you track on Global Package Tracking it clearly shows the tracking info
Recently, I received a request from buyer that he hasn't received the package but when I tracked the parcel it was saying on the way to his country but he refused to close the case and asked eBay to step in. I provided a proper response with tracking problem for ebay and the closed a case in my favour.
Today, I received a message that I was fully refunded to that buyer because he asked ebay to review that information a second time and they decided in his favour for the second time. When I tracked a parcel today it showed that the parcel was in his post office for 18 days and it sent back to me today because the buyer didn't pick up it.
Overall. I think it's unfair because it's not my fault that the buyer didn't pick the parcel. In that case it's fair to do a partial refund because I want to get my money for shipping cost. How can I appeal this case?

·2 years agoYou can appeal the decision. Generally with returned items eBay considers the package to have been delivered and while under eBay policy you are not required to refund the buyer for returned items it is the ethical thing to do minus the shipping cost and fees of course.

OP2 years agoThanks for replay. I have submitted an appeal. I managed to find the carrier on ebay app and it perfectly tracks on the ebay. Hopefully, they will review my appeal and make a decision in my favour.

OP2 years agoI just received a message from ebay admin. He said that they are not going to change their decision about a refund because it arrived with a delay from the estimated delivery date of the package and that's why the buyer didn't want to pick up it. Also, the admin said that "Please note that it is the seller's responsibility to ensure on-time deliveries".
Why is it my responsibility to ensure that it arrives on time? How is that possible? How can I influence on the delivery process?
I shipped the item less than 24 hours after payment and they say it's my fault that there was a delay.
Many of my orders arrive later than it shows on estimated day for buyers because it's international postage and some problems happens. Especially when the order from EU. It can stay in custom zone for weeks.
I'm so upset with these rules. Ebay is becoming like scam platform for sellers.

This is pure bull waste. The seller is responsible for making sure the shipping information is uploaded on time. They are making assumptions that the buyer didn't want to pickup the package. Did this ship to a PO Box by chance? At least the package is on it's way back to you.

This is one of the major flaws in eBay's policy of allowing buyers to open an INR if the item has not arrived by THEIR projected delivery date. EBay has NO control over carriers deliveries although they like to assert to the buyers that they do.
