A Newbie question that has almost certainly been discussed here, but I can't find it. When I started selling here, I never put "accept offers" or "buy it now" options on my auctions, and some of them did fairly well. My initial instincts were that having the "make offer" available made the auction seem "less real" - just an excuse to get people to view your listing. If they put a bid down, it can be invalidated with a side deal, so they might be less likely to bid. ...

As soon as an auction gets a bid, the "Buy it now" and "Best offer" options disappear. Members who see your auction after it has received a bid won't even know that it originally had a BIN or Best Offer on...
