The new US customs tariffs are illegal, so are eBay's sanctions against sellers
The new customs tariffs are illegal and this is the reason why almost all countries from all continents do not ship to the USA. Therefore, eBay.com's measures against sellers who do not ship to the USA are also illegal! The seller's fault for the failure is a lie and eBay.com violates even local laws, ignoring the illegality of the actions of the US administration, ignoring a Federal Court decision, which means that eBay is also committing crimes! It is not the sellers' fault! On August 14, eBay.com. sent a message to users informing them of the new customs rules in the USA. On August 25, it already has a BBE rating. It is not a privilege to ignore Federal laws, but a crime! The purpose of the post is simply to show the facts. No one needs malicious, arrogant comments. Because it would be extremely inadequate to deny a court decision. I personally do not want to comment, but to show the truth. Here the Federal Court decision: https://www.cafc.uscourts.gov/opinions-orders/25-1812.OPINION.8-29-2025_2566151.pdf Here is a complete list of countries from different continents that refuse to participate in the illegal actions of the US administration. The list is impressive! https://www.upu.int/en/postal-solutions/technical-solutions/products/faq-impact-of-recent-us-customs-regulation-changes-on-international-postal-services

·8 months agoNot to get political, but half of the sellers online incl. Ebay voted for Grump.
However, I don't know how you came to the conclusion that all the countries don't ship to the US. My understanding is that countries DO ship to the US (not just through their govt post offices) and the customer eventually has to pay the duty tax.
And my understanding is that the tariff is not only punishment against countries, but to get the Americans to buy from domestic companies.

·8 months agoTell that to the federal court legislating from the bench to make it illegal for its own country to engage fairly in trade. If "it's illegal to not be taken advantage of" isn't malicious arrogance, I don't know what is. Not criticizing you OP, just saying that ship seems to have sailed.

·8 months ago@vintage-shop-teota You have no idea how our legal system works.
Tariffs are not illegal. Even if the U.S. Supreme Court were to rule that the method by which they were implemented is not legal (and they won't), there are many other methods President Trump can use to implement them.
I personally am for tariffs. This country used to operate off tariffs. I'd rather have tariffs than an income tax. It is past time the U.S. stopped getting screwed by other countries.

·8 months agoI am in the UK, US tariffs have lost me about 70% of my sales to the US but yes I agree with the tariffs, China has had its own way for far too long but the porblem is sellers from China are lying about where there inevntory is held and there listings do not carry tariff warning to buyers in the US but being hoenst like me I get the warnings on my lstings, the tariffs are no hardships to sellers in China because there government refunds the cost of the tariffs they have to pay selling to the US, Ebay is not helping either because I have to ship PDDP which means I pay the tariffs and theres nothing for US buyers to pay on arrival but there is no way of telling buyers the price you see is the price you pay, its like they dont want people outside the US selling on ebay.com

·8 months agoSo I see you are in Bulgaria.
Bulgaria charges no tariffs on EU based imports but does charge tariffs on USA imports.
Does that make Bulgarias tariffs on goods imported from the USA illegal?
Just wondering..........................

OP8 months agoIn Bulgaria, no duty-free goods from any country have been removed! Worldwide, only the measures in the US are illegal and this is an official court decision.

·8 months agoYour previous post pretty much covered all of this......
"The new customs tariffs are illegal and this is the reason why almost all countries from all continents do not ship to the USA."
While your opinion is that the tariffs are illegal (I agree) until the Supreme Court issues a ruling there is nothing you or I or eBay or any country outside the US can do anything about that.
It is not true that you cannot ship goods to the USA from "almost all countries". It is true that in some countries their Postal Service is not shipping to the US but there are many alternative services available even in Bulgaria. You will need to research and shop around for a service you can use. You may even be able to find services which are cheaper than the Postal service.
To start you could try DHL Global Mail (not the courier division).

OP8 months agoNo, things are not like that outside the EU. And as I wrote in my answer above, the court decision is in effect, since it has not been overturned by the Supreme Court. This will certainly drag on for a long time. Many US buyers and sellers do not know that the UK is not in the EU, receiving shipments from this country. And they think that this is also possible in all other countries. No, it is not, because the problem is political. Reflects in global trade, in all other continents. UPS owes huge compensation to US citizens because it threw away their shipments due to a political decision. That is, illegally. The question is - on eBay it is forbidden to discuss politics and related issues. Then why does eBay.com. show such duplicity, since eBay.com.'s actions towards sellers outside the EU are entirely for political reasons? Because global trade is collapsing precisely for political reasons. And for these reasons eBay.com. blames all sellers outside the EU and created the fictional, fake BBE. eBay is withholding money from many sellers, which is a crime, since no seller is to blame for the illegal rates in SA. This is stealing money from sellers from eBay.com. The truth is that neither US citizens nor citizens from other countries are to blame for these political decisions. From there, eBay.com. violates a court decision that applies to absolutely everyone, until the illegality of the new rates is confirmed by the Supreme Court or they are legalized. At this point, everything that is done, including eBay.com what doing to non US sellers, is illegal!

OP8 months agoThis is how much it costs to send a package of up to 500 grams from Bulgaria to the US. Absurd amount! How can I send a package via DHL worth, say, $15 and with such a huge amount for shipping? I hope everyone to understands why this is impossible. I made a screenshot.
c_of_e84
·8 months agoWhat do you expect using DHL there must be cheaper ways out of Bulgaria than that.
vintage-shop-teota
OP8 months agoOf course - Bulgarian Posts. I work with them, because is cheapest way to ship to other continent. But from 25 August the Bulgarian Posts, following the warning from Universal Postal Union, don't ship to US.

·8 months agoI specifically told you DHL GLOBAL MAIL not the courier division.

·8 months agoYes, but i don't think you are taking into account that the government was granted a stay to that ruling by the Supreme court, so its technically not illegal yet.
Your argument would be stronger if this tarrif battle was over and a stay was denied.
vintage-shop-teota
OP8 months agoWhen a court decision is made, it is in effect until it is overturned by a higher court! That is, the Federal Court's decision is in effect because it has not been overturned!
robbie31415
·8 months agoActually, that is exactly what a 'stay' changes.
In the legal system, a stay pending appeal literally hits the 'pause' button on the lower court’s ruling. It prevents that ruling from going into effect.
Since the Supreme Court granted the government’s request for a stay, the lower court's decision (that the tariffs are illegal) is suspended and unenforceable right now. The legal status quo reverts to how it was before the ruling meaning the tariffs remain active and enforceable until the Supreme Court issues its final decision.
So, while the lower court did say they were illegal, the stay means that ruling is currently on ice. eBay is following the active law (the stay), not ignoring the court.

·8 months agoWonder why China and others ship stuff to the USA. Tariffs have been around since the late 1700s and have fluctuated over time.

·8 months agoGrump is going to do a workaround to the Supreme Court ruling. Betcha. They're concocting something up, because GRUMP wants HIS way.
