The most oboxious buyers can be....other sellers!
OK...had to vent about this because I've had it happen several times lately. Is there anything more obnoxious than a lowball offer buyer who is also a seller whose listings don't have a 'make offer' option and who is clearly charging 1.5X to 2X actual shipping charges? Seriously, as another business owner, they should understand the time and effort it takes to list and process sales, and have a little bit of respect for other sellers.

·11 months agoI don't mind the offers, but what I do hate is when you say no, and they proceed to berate you. I had one seller tell me the item was cheaper in the store and good luck at selling it at that price. I sent a screen shot of the actual price in the store, which much higher. I said have a great day and put them on my BBL. The item sold this week at the price I was asking. The items they were selling were outrageously priced. It just made me laugh. I let karma take care of the rest. Always take the high road. You never want to turn into that person.

·11 months agoI'll never understand why sellers get so upset by lowball offers.....from anyone. Just a fact of life in this kind of venue. Like at a g-sale........how many of us have said "would you take x"? Other sellers are trying to make a buck which we should understand..... Why waste time/energy bemoaning the fact? I respond with ........the lowest I can take is x.... and, lol, some come back with a figure 50c less than that and I take it........

How I usually deal with them is counter offer. If they come back with another lowball offer, say a dollar higher, then that tells me that they are not a serious buyer. I then decline and put them on my BBL.
Sometimes, if the offer is ridiculously low, then they get declined and blocked right away. I had a recent lowball offer of 10$ on a $125 item. That buyer caught me in a bad mood and was introduced to my BBL.

·11 months agoThere have always been bottomfeeders on Ebay and will always be some.
Some sellers are tolerant of bottomfeeders and even welcome their offers. Others do not wish to do business as if they were in a souk or bazaar.
Some of those offers in a message get an answer, others make it to my blocked buyer list. Few get accepted.
Some people are bottomfeeders out of need, some out of the nature of their personality.
Some sellers accept their offers out of need, others out of their insecurity.
I suppose I should be empathetic with those who act out of need, but they are just so g-d annoying, and will often responded to a rejection by denigrating the merchandise.
I suppose a cure would be if Ebay provided an "uppity seller" badge we could put on our listings.

If the item has Best Offer then you have to expect lowball offers.
I dislike getting offers on item via message.
No Best Offer on item so just send a lowball offer via message. "Buyer" is a seller of the same items.
They immediately get added to my BBL.
The best thing about offers is you can see the "buyer" before they purchase and decide if you want to deal with them.

I have seen other sellers make this remark and I understand it. But I actually like getting offers via message because I feel the buyer is more serious about buying the item, they're just seeing if I can give them a better price, and most are reasonable, not low-ball. Some I decline but I do sell quite a few things by message offers.

The last 3 "offers" I have received via message were all from sellers and all lowball offers, all in the last 30 days.
None of the items had Best Offer on the items. Just send a message with "how about $$"
The one today was 55% off an item I just listed.
