·2 years agoUnusual generally eBay handles these types of chargebacks without seller input since they have all the information they need to respond to the CC company. Did you actually receive notification regarding the chargeback and did you respond?

·2 years agoYeah, they don't recognize the charge, until you tell them they're being reported for mail fraud, then they suddenly remember.
If your buyer filed a charge back and you have proof they in fact ordered and received the item, then they committed mail fraud, report it!
Mail fraud is a federal crime. The postal service will convict them too, and order them to pay you restitution.
In some cases the postal service will give the buyer an ultimatum, either return the merchandise, pay for it, and show proof of receipts for it, or go to jail. That's what happened with the last charge back scammer I dealt with. They returned my merchandise.

·1 year agoWe've recently observed a number of orders involving disputes related to unrecognized charges and claims of non-receipt for items. We ensure that all items have been shipped and include verified tracking information.
To protect our business, our attorney has recommended sending a warning letter outlining the potential actions that may be taken, including the involvement of the postal inspector, filing a police report, and detailing the legal ramifications associated with these claims, which we are considering. All of this takes time. And as stated, eBay usually replaces the funds for the order. But we lose valuable productivity time responding, researching, and addressing these claims.
We prefer to focus on customer service and fulfilling orders rather than addressing these fraudulent matters.

·2 years agoIt's like beating a dead horse. You can call but you will (in most cases) be speaking to deaf ears. The seller will always win out and you will end up being frustrated with eBay and the work you put into your online business.

·2 years agoBut even if you win this case, this will still become a din in your service matrix, which will cause you to pay an extra 5% in eBay fees for the upcoming transactions.
This is how these devious buyers sabotage your account.
What I would do is send a message to the eBay support team, reminding them that this should not affect your seller performance.
But I am not sure if this will remove the din in your service matrix though.
The extreme buyer-centric transaction rules have turned 'the customer is God' from a godsend into a devil.

·2 years agois there anything I can do?
No.
Similar thing happened to me Jan 2202, within a month it was corrected by computer
You can also spend hours on phone with these folks but you will go nowhere.

·2 years agoAppeal it..........as long as you mailed to the address ebay gave you , you will win.......... The "first" outcome is for the cc company.......the second (appeal) is to ebay itself.........

·2 years agoYes, this is the well-worn tactic of these habitual thieves to dodge payment.
First of all, why should "not recognize the transaction" be the sellers' responsibility?
Sellers do not directly handle payments; eBay does.
If this is an unauthorized payment, why do eBay, credit card companies, or payment processors allow it to go through?
These big companies are simply evading responsibility, concealing their incompetence of their so called "Security", and shifting their due obligations onto vulnerable sellers who have no recourse.
Yes, if you upload your tracking number and shows delivery, you might won this case.
However, "not recognizing the transaction" should have been rejected from the outset and shouldn't become a burden on online sellers.

·2 years agoPersonally, I've never liked the way ebay c.c. payments show on statements because they aren't specific enough to indicate what was purchased.
But if you know the chargeback is for an item and matches the exact amount that the buyer paid in total, you can try sending a message to the buyer reminding them of the item and that they left positive feedback. Now that they have their money back, they may not be willing to repay but it's worth a try.
For example, this is a recent purchase I made and how it shows on my account. It'll be a month before I get the bill and I may have forgotten about the purchase. I wish there was more specificity to remind buyers what it was they bought.
If you failed to upload tracking into the dispute that would be why the buyer won and you didn’t. Even if you purchased the shipping label on eBay the tracking number associated with the label needed to be uploaded into the case.
This resulted in eBay refunding the buyer and recovering that refund money from you.

·2 years agoDo you have a tracking number? Did you upload it after shipping?
Buyer leaving you positive feedback and getting their money back and keeps product just does not make since.
I believe the claim of 'did not recognize transaction' is with their C.C. or maybe bank. Did you respond to the case?
If you have tracking and it was uploaded when shipped and / or in case, you should be covered by eBay.

·2 years ago"Does not recognize the transaction" is generally covered under seller protections when you have tracking with confirmed delivery:

There may have been an underlying factor that voided the protections. I suggest contacting customer service to file an appeal.
