Stupid is back! Always Interfering
I'm listing a postcard for a bridge "near New Tripoli, PA". I get this billion dollar result:
"We don’t allow phrases such as "like new" in your title or description because the listing will show up in search results for new items. In order to list this item, edit your title to make it clear that the item isn’t new by using terms such as “slightly used†or “refurbishedâ€. Also, if your item isn’t brand new, be sure to select an item condition that matches your item, such as “Usedâ€.
I'm going to try writing this as CENSORED New Tripoli and see if that works. Description is simply and accurately quoting the card title.

eBay's policy enforcement will never be perfect, and they are not going to carve out an exception to help you list a single postcard. I would suggest changing the listing title to "outside New Tripoli, PA" or "around New Tripoli, PA" and moving on to the next item you will be listing.
I sold that item today even without Ebays help!
There was almost no chance that eBay was going to help you.

·7 months agoCan't you just avoid the word "near" in the title and call it New Tripoli? I'm sure it being close to New Tripoli is enough that you don't need to say it's near/close to, just the name of the town will suffice.
It's just my two cents. You are preaching to the choir here, I had my banknotes from Oman moved because they use Rials just like in Iran, it's for letters and ends in AN, and there's a guy wearing Iranian looking clothes on the Omani 5 Rials. I called to complain and was told "it's kind of the same thing so we have to remove it due to the embargo". A history lesson about Oman being a different country didn't help. I never relisted my Omani banknotes, I gave them to my ex to put in his banknote collection. Problem solved.

·7 months agoI was messaging about an order and for the life of me can't see why tsum tsums RQT was flagged as inappropriate profanity? I changed it to RQT for the tsum tsums and it went through. Shrug.

·7 months agoIn your original title, eBay's (ridiculous, IMO) AI located the word "near" next to the word "New."
It read those two words as "near new", meaning "like new", "almost new", "very close to new", "squint and it looks new", etc. Capitalizing the word New -- because it is, you know, a proper noun, as part of the name of a town in Pennsylvania -- obviously means nothing to eBay's AI.
Adding the word CENSORED to your listing is clever and obviously did not trigger the AI's overworked little virtual brain.
You might get some questions from potential buyers, but I know you can explain your replacement of "near" with "CENSORED"!
