Stop Automatic Product Details
Is there a way to turn off the automatic product details? Most of the time, the information that is being added by eBay is incorrect. I would like the option to be able to enter my own (correct) information.

I just got off of the phone with eBay customer service. The gentleman I spoke with is getting the info to the tech team. They are going to try to remove the "List it Faster" box on my account. I can let you know if they are successful if you would like.
I apologize for 'hijacking' your post. I was trying to help. 😊

·2 years agoI certainly hope someone can answer this, as I have this same issue! It is infuriating, and WE are the ones who will suffer because of the details being incorrect.

·2 years agoWhen you create your listing, just choose "Continue without Match" at the bottom instead of choosing an item, after you've entered your initial title or identifier. If you're using a UPC, ISBN, etc, just choose not to use the matched product after you enter it, or don't enter it at all (though that may cut down on searchability). We've run into that before, eBay's catalog is definitely far from perfect.

·2 years agoAre you using the product catalog? If yes, that's why you're getting item details to auto fill.
If you use sell similar from a listing you found, then all info will carry over into your listing except for images.
If you prefer to put your own item details and description, you would need to select "create a listing".. this way you get a clean slate on all item details they will be blank so you can fill them in.

·2 years agoThis doesn't hold true, especially for jewelry sellers. I have been listing gold filled items and eBay is constantly filling in things that are not correct. (i.e.; 12K gold filled earrings, eBay is automatically filling in 12K Gold.) I go back and check the listing before I make it live, and it's fine. Then when it's listed, the wrong details are there.
It's total 💩. I am the one who will be in trouble for a listing 'not as described'; NOT eBay. They have no right to fill in any of my item details. I don't use product catalogs, UPC, or ISBN numbers. I almost always create a new listing, unless I am creating a similar one from one of my own items.

·2 years agoMy reply was directed towards the OP not to someone who comes in and highjacks the OPs post.

·2 years agoWow. That was NOT my intention. I am having the same issue and was trying to help further explain what may be happening with the OP.
I will respond directly to OP with what I just found out. Have a nice day.
