Stalker sabotaging my listings How?
I've had someone stalking me on eBay for many years Recently I listed a vintage Harley Davidson wallet After the auction ended at $3.25 I noticed a message offering $25 for an early end so I believe the auction was sabotaged If someone was offering $25 for an early end it should have been expected to sell for more than $25 That plus, most of my listings have no views Things are bad enough on eBay without having someone stalking me such that I can't have a fair auction

·8 months agoWIth all due respect, you sell about 6 items a month, and only have 3 recent sales over $20. I can't imagine that you are on anyone's radar for anything, or that you possibly inspired someone enough to stalk you for years and use completely undocumented powers and hacks to sabotage you in some way.
Perhaps the calls are coming from inside the house?

·8 months agoWhat's the deal with so many people blaming ebay for random nonsense lately?
Is this what the anti-vaxxers are up to in 2026?

·8 months agoWell, auctions often get no views, and sell for less than buy it now. Also, people who make an offer want it then and if you don't accept it rarely will they bid. Been on here for a long time. Also, not everything listed is going to sell for various reasons. No one can stop others from seeing your listings...

·8 months agoI'm going slightly off the main topic with saying the days of starting auctions at 99 cents is a bad strategy. The days of the low starting bid is long behind us. Yes, eBay still encourages the low starting bid but it's pointless and way to risky anymore unless you like giving stuff away.
Years ago it was a good strategy because once on item got a bid it got highlighted and would draw a lot more attention. eBay did away with highlighting items with a bid years ago so it's pointless to start low now.
Start all items at your rock bottom and hope for the best, at the very least you get your rock bottom.

·8 months agoI never agree to an early end for an auction.
I hope for enough interest to drive the auction past that level, but I set my starting bid at a level where I am willing to sell the item at that price.
I usually, though not always, get more than that offer. I never combine Buy It Now with an auction. I never start an auction at $.99. Ebay suggests that level when Terapeak has no recommendation - it is idiotic to follow that recommendation.

·8 months agoWhy do you think someone is stalking you? and why would anyone devote this much energy to your rather low ticket items? Did you pee in their ****?
Seriously though, if you truly believe this rather cuckoo sounding scenario, just create a new account. The feedback on the account you used to post here is pretty crummy and there isn't all that much that is seller feedback so get a new (free) email and create a new stalker free account.

Totally agree. Some of those neuts would qualify as negs.

·8 months agoAs frustrating as things can get here, I highly doubt that someone is actually stalking you.
habibwahab
·8 months agoIt’s understandable this feels frustrating, but there’s really no way for a buyer to sabotage an auction. Messages offering more after it ends don’t mean it would have sold higher. Low views are very commmon right now and usually related to demand or listing setup, not stalking. If the messages feel off, block the user and repport it to eBay so it’s on record.

OP8 months agoI think it's someone who works at eBay or someone granted admin privileges and the stalker contacts them and tells them not to bid
luckythewinner
·8 months agoSo lets say I am a buyer ...
When this happens, you suspect that ...
And all of this happens in the instant before I click the 'Bid' button, and the stalker is available to do this in real time 24/7 for the entire auction duration? And all that just to cheat you out of $21.75 on a wallet listing?
That is a fascinating theory.

·8 months agoSo this person contacts all members and tells them not to bid on your auctions?
rschissler
·8 months agoYou have zero proof of that.
itsjustasprain
·8 months agoYour theory is absolutely bonkers. Your posts suggest that you have no idea how bidding actually works here. If you were hoping to get $25 or more for your wallet then set your opening price to be $25 and then every bid after that is gravy.
Unfortunately your feedback on that selling account is atrocious and selling expired or about-to-expire dental floss is not a winning strategy. Perhaps Ebay is not for you.
fern*wood
·8 months agoIn fairness, I had no idea dental floss had an expiration date. 🤔

·8 months agoI had to check because I was curious as well!
â€Dental floss has an expiration date because its materials, like wax and flavorings, degrade over time, making it less effective, prone to fraying, losing its glide, and potentially harboring germs, even if it doesn't become toxicâ€
The more you know!

·8 months agoAlso sold nasal spray with 2 months left before expiration date.

·8 months agoListen Harley wallets are not selling for as much as you think they are.
Perhaps your person who wanted you to end the auction early thought like you and thought it would end for more but then saw it wasn't going for much they made a cheap bid.

·8 months agoOK I am bored and had to come back to this one and see.
If you are unhappy with the $3.25 ending, next time set a minimum bid of $25.00 in the first place. If you started the bidding at $0.99 you sabotaged yourself, not someone else. As a buyer I look for those $0.99 starting prices on auctions knowing I might get a score. Sometimes I do.
Obviously the person that offered $25.00 was willing to pay at least that amount. Maybe start the bidding at the least amount you are willing to accept.
Try it out and see. Even if it doesn't work it's better than getting $3.25 for an item worth much more.
Good luck to you either way....................

·8 months agoYes, it certainly sounds like someone is stalking you.
I would notify your local law enforcement right away.

OK ???

·8 months agoAnyone looking at the list of bidders would see the first and last letters of the bidder's IDs separated by astericks. They would have no way to contact them.

In a perfect world, you would have replied to the message encouraging them to bid $25.00 dollars. If the auction had no bids, you could have added a Buy-It-Now price of $25.00 dollars.

OP8 months agoI'm giving you all proof that eBay is sabotaging people's auctions You gonna ignore it or sue? There's no way that auction could end legitimately at $3.25 because there's too much buyer interested in vintage Harley Davidson wallets Clearly the auction was sabotaged

·8 months agoI believe that you believe your auction was sabotaged. But auctions do end for less than a seller thinks their item is worth.
Look at the image below, those are sales for vintage Harley Davidson wallets that sold within the past 90 days from $5.00 to $8.00 one with BIN $28.00. So selling a wallet for $3.25 at auction is a legitimate sale. However I see no such sale within the past 90 under this ID for the wallet you speak of.

·8 months ago@ebooksdiva
Just FYI, the listing ended a bit more than 90 days ago, according to Marketplace Research.
Most of the listing can't be accessed anymore, but here is the listing page. The link to "Seller's other items" goes to OP's listings.
I don't know why the price shows as $0.00, because the buyer did leave feedback for the purchase.
itsjustasprain
·8 months ago'would' is correct. It is a conditional phrase that applies only to users viewing the Bid History page. 'should' is not correct because it implies that they currently DO have a way to contact them - which is not true.
lacemaker3
·8 months ago@onlinecentral,
That is not quite correct. It isn't the first and last letters, it is two letters/characters taken at random from the user ID. It isn't always the same characters, they use different characters on different pages or views, to make it harder to track down a buyer's purchase. It will be a different two letters on the bid or purchase history page, than are used on a seller's feedback page.
For example, you received feedback within the last month from buyers 0***5, o***e, n***1, and an automated feedback, for a listing selling fuses. According to the purchase history page for that listing, you had 4 sales within the last month or so, to buyers c***2, f***8, 6***3 and 2***6. Four buyers altogether, but the masked IDs are different on those pages.

·8 months agoIf someone was offering $25 for an early end it should have been expected to sell for more than $25
Your logic makes no sense. The person offering the $25 wanted it NOW, not, after the auction ended.
Things are bad enough on eBay without having someone stalking me such that I can't have a fair auction
No one stalked you or prevented other people from bidding on your auction.
