SSN or ITIN
Ebay requires a SSN or ITIN for payouts. I don't feel entirely comfortable giving my SSN to eBay. I have an ITIN for an LLC business that is not related to reselling. Can I still use this ITIN number instead of SSN?
Thank you for taking the time to help me with this.

If you want to sell on this site and get paid, you have no choice but to give Ebay the info they told you to provided. They are required by law to have it on file.
Please review the below link carefully. It contains very important information as to how Ebay needs to see the information you provide them on your account. It is likely easier to change your Ebay account to match your bank account if you find there to be a difference.

·1 year agoSo many posts by people being nervous about giving Ebay their SS number when they don't give a second thought to providing it to their dentist, doctor or any number of others where it's hardly protected at all. Let alone encrypted.

·1 year ago@sellingbytheshore09 how did you set up your eBay account? You need to provide the information that matches how your account is set up

·1 year agoYou might have a problem if your eBay account is in your name and the tax id is in the name of an LLC. You might also have an IRS problem for the same reason (if you sell enough to get a 1099-K).
Providing "false" information to eBay is not a good thing.

·1 year agoWell, I don't know about an ITIN number. But I use my a Federal Employee Identification Number (EIN) instead of my social security number and I have never had a complaint about it.
