Someone higher than a CSR
This question has been asked time and time again. The last time was in 2022. I have been lied to 3 times now when calling customer service representatives. In January of 2025 I had 6 epileptic seizures in a matter of 34 hrs. It was this situation that I was diagnosed as being epileptic because at first we had no idea what to say it was. This particular incident left me in the hospital for a week. I was unconscious for 3 of the 7 days. I had a few orders that had needed to be sent out and I just didn’t have that at the forefront of my mind. I sell on eBay as a way to compensate for being unable to drive or work a steady job. Well, because these packages were late eBay took my promotion option away. I called in March 2025 and was told I’d get the ability back in July. I explained I’d never been late prior to this. The reason I was late was hospitalization and I have a 5star rating. My reviews aren’t simple great items or fast shipping. I really do my all to make it a special experience for buyers bc times are tough. It’s not every day that some get to purchase something new online. I make it like they are opening a Christmas present along with a handmade written note. So, this delivery issue just really hurts my entire being and is frustrating. So July comes and goes and I call in September. The CSR says I will get the ability to promote November 21st I put it on my Calendar. It didn’t happen. I’ve had no delivery issues but that one time in January and it was for those 2 or 3 packages. I called on Wednesday and was told I wasn’t going to get my ability to promote until an evaluation in February. This is the first I’m even hearing of evaluations and how come I’ve had no issues all year and still no ability to promote. The CSR could care less that I’ve smacked my head off hard objects 18 times now when having a gran maul seizure. Being hospitalized wasn’t a good reason to have been late a few days with a package or 2 and that I’d beater hope for a good evaluation. My last sale got a great review and shipped next day. I bet I still won’t be able to promote after Feb. evaluate me. He said there isn’t anyone I can speak to higher up about this. Why thank me for being part of eBay 2017 if you don’t give a rats a$$ as to why my ability to sell on your site is practically nonexistent bc I can’t promote. My last sale was a person from Facebook who wanted to use eBay services. So again I’m not getting any traffic and it’s not fair. I feel discriminated against. Who can I contact that will help me please? I need to make money and I can’t without the ability to promote. Thank you-Sloane

Based upon your # of sales, your evaluation period is likely "one year". (thus the Feb)
It take s 400 sales in 3 months to be evaluated "quarterly."

·8 months agoI am sorry for your health problems.
However, there is no one higher up for you to speak to. The ebay service metrics are pretty clearly laid out in the policy. You can read it here:
Service metrics policy | eBay
These metrics apply to all of us, no matter what our personal situation is. Ebay in not a human being. Ebay is a selling platform/ website/ algorithm, and ebay doesn't care about our issues. Ebay cares only about the rules you agreed to when you listed items for sale.
On a positive note, those defects should be falling off soon, so you should be able to promote again (FYI, ebay recently changed how the promotions work, so you might want to take a look at that new policy as well).

·8 months ago@sloanegrey81 You need a backup plan in the event you have another health emergency. As difficult as it is to understand, eBay does not accept medical excuses. They have no way to verify them. It would take a massive amount of manpower to do so, which would raise fees for everybody. You would have every seller coming up with medical reasons why they couldn't ship or had to cancel orders. It would be a complete cluster. Instead, eBay does the fair thing, which is to treat everybody equally, and puts the burden on you, the seller, as a business to take responsibility and have an emergency plan in place.
I find it amazing that you have sold since 2017 and you don't seem to have any idea about seller performance evaluations. I urge you to read up on that. That's the only way you are going to know what you need to do to meet standards again. I'm sure eBay dropped you to below standard, which is why you cannot promote.
One final piece of advice: You do not need to promote your items. You just need to list things people actually want to buy. You have 47 items listed, and you've sold 4 things in the past 90 days. At that rate you may not meet standards at all this year. You've got to get more items that people want listed. Lower your prices. You have to generate sales. But before you do that, get an emergency plan in place - someone who can ship out orders for you in the event you have a problem. You risk losing your account altogether if you don't.
