Sold items while out of country
I had several items listed for sale that had been listed for a couple of weeks. I had a vacation coming up where I knew I would not have Internet access and I searched for a way to place those items on pause but did not find out how. I did see a way to post a message that seemed like anyone contacting me would see so I posted that I would not have contact from 8-23 Aug apparently that did not work that way as I quickly sold three items with not way to contact buyers. I did manage to get Internet access on the 20th and I sent eBay messages to all three buyers explaining the situation and stating that I would refund the total shipping fee.. On the 24th a buyer filed a Items not received complaint. What could I have done to avoid this disaster? Is there a way to pause a listing?

but you might have been able to do that as well as the other options.

I would have just ended the listings and then relisted them whenever back.

·11 months agoIf you were not able to use the time away feature, You should have ended your Listings, Now you are stuck,you will have seller defects, The best thing you should have done, Was to ask about this before you left & someone could have helped you , Now it's after the fact.

Where in the Time Away policy do you see you need a store subscription?
You don’t need a store subscription to use time away.

·11 months agoNot anymore, used to be that way years ago but you don't need to have a store for Time Away.

·11 months agoWhile that used to be true, they changed it several years ago so that anyone can use it. I dropped my store subscription a couple of years ago, but I still use Time Away liberally.

To avoid that disaster …..
You should have placed your listings on Time Away
If you couldn’t figure that out you should have ended your items and relisted on your return, ended items remain in your ended items page for 90 days before eBay purges from the system.
Now you will have defects on your service metrics as well as defects on your seller dashboard for no acceptance scans.

Up in the right hand corner of your screen you will see "My eBay" -- click on that, and scroll down to "Selling," and click on that.
That will take you to your main "Seller Hub" page -- scroll down to "Selling tools," and click on "Time away."
On the right hand screen, click on "Edit time away," and fill in the appropriate dates. Make sure that you do this several days BEFORE your scheduled time away.
