Sold an Item for local pickup, but ended up shipping it
I recently sold a higher priced item marked as a local pickup, but sold the item to an out of state customer before editing the ad. I shipped the item and it's still seen as a local pickup. How do I go about editing and adding a tracking number so it can be seen as a shipped item and ultimately get paid? My funds are stuck in hold...
TIA

·2 years agoGo to seller hub>orders>click drop down menu and select "item has been picked up. You don't need to the 6 digit code.
I had a buyer purchase one item for an order, and on a second order, she selected local pick up to avoid shipping charge. Long story short, I shipped first item with tracking and then selected item has been picked up for the second.
In addition, I used the local pick up option previously, you only need to select item has been picked up.

·2 years agoIt will remain local pickup and you are at risk for a INR claim.
You should never ship a local pickup item.
I would have cancelled it and had them repurchase with the correct service.

·2 years agoHave you been communicating this to the buyer and are they understanding and cooperating? It appears you have two separate situations. The first is confirmation from the buyer they got it thus giving ebay the go ahead to pay you. I would think, in that case, you use the same process as if they did pick it up. The second is providing the buyer a tracking # which you can do by messaging them.

OP2 years agoHello, I messaged the customer with their tracking number as soon as I shipped it and I also let hem know I would be needing a confirmation code. I haven't heard back from that customer in a few days and it's still being seen as a local pickup.

·2 years agoI believe you may be at the mercy of the buyer and their cooperation. They will have to confirm they got it before anything can be done as far as I know. Do you have a message from the customer agreeing to the after the fact change from local pickup to it being shipped? Have you contacted ebay customer service about this?

OP2 years agoI contacted eBay by phone, they were very helpful. I have to call them 3 days after delivery and they will help me resolve the problem.
