So have you looked at the Ambassador Storefront Program for free? I was just wondering what you thought?
You can for put all your stuff in there (that the algorithms allow) and get paid a commission for selling your own stuff, now search engines will craw this stuff and searches may get pointed your way if lucky. You will be able maybe to get up to 7.5% commission if it is bought thru your Storefront according to ebay. This is new to me so I have just been trying to figure it out and so far I have not seen a down side of having one and it looks like they only allow you one, but I think what they allow you to install in your storefront are promoted items of course but you can pick and choose other peoples items and yours also. Interesting, I guess the bean counters are hard at work. Happy Holidays to All.

·9 months agoI looked into it, set it up for an affiliate with a few products. Too busy to fool with it.. It reminds me of those instant stores.. you know.. somethingstore. yournamehere.. etc. , the only difference is you put in your products.
Since I run an cat rescue (I wear 10 million hats), I am doing the store essentially to help them. Started it off with cat toys we have used, handed to my husband to add some links, and in a little while he's bored "What's the point?". ..lol That comes from affiliate burnout in our other lives. I am hoping it will be successful though.

·9 months ago@animal-house-8 Yes, I've looked into it. I had some questions, and , to ebay's credit, got answers pretty quickly. I started to fool around with setting up the store---it is pretty basic---but am less interested in selling my own stuff, and more interested in treating it as an affiliate business, which is what it is. No insult intended, but it is basically the ebay Partner Network for Dummies, and that suits me just fine.
But this is the Holiday Season, and I have lots going on, so for now it is on the Back Burner.

·9 months agoIt's also worth keeping in mind if you use promoted listings, under the current attribution model if you use eBay's sharing tools to post your Ambassador links to social media, they may be tagged with tracking codes that will count for ad attribution - and under the new attribution model coming in January, you'll likely end up paying the ad fee any way.
So again, that 7.5% might offset some fees but not all.

·9 months agoHate to burst anyone's bubble but the "up to" 7.5% commission isn't eBay doing any great favor for sellers.
They previously had a "Seller Incentive" in the eBay Partner Network program which covered the full Final Value Fee when sold your own items through affiliate links but they took that away back in August and replaced it with the Ambassador program.
So for any category where FVF is higher than 7.5%, sellers were better off under the old program and even the few categories that are less than that for FVF may not be getting their full fees back since the Ambassador commission could be less than that 7.5% maximum.

·9 months agoIt's really just the new version of the eBay Partner program that has been around for years. It also also a revival of a program they had in the early 2000's for those with a Store (this was prior to Stores to Core when Store listings did not appear in searches).

It's a good thing to check out if you have an active online presence other than eBay (mostly Social media).

I don’t subscribe to any social media sites. I used to years back, but found them to be full of drama and decided it wasn’t for me.
