So frustrated right now....eBay India CS is a joke!
i had a buyer purchase a rare collectible 1oz silver bar for $425 earlier this month. I shipped it right away and a couple days later he messages me "I didn't buy this item, I got an offer for it and was researching it and eBay somehow bought the item for me and charged my credit card! When I receive it I'm going to return"! I don't know the current eBay policy as it seems hard to navigate eBay policies these days but I believe starting in 2014 or so eBay made it so sellers in the silver bullion category didn't need to accept returns unless it was not as described/damaged in shipping....I'm pretty sure this is still the policy as in the eBay bullion education center it mentions most bullion sellers don't accept returns that it's industry standard....also I believe it's still the policy as this problem buyer opened a item not as described claim against me and included a picture of the bar he received which was exactly as described.
I contacted eBay India customer service via phone and was instructed to IGNORE the claim and that when it was escalated to a case it would automatically be closed and ruled in my favor as it was a fraudulent item not as described claim/case. So I did exactly as instructed, ignored the claim then it got escalated to a case and was automatically closed in the BUYER'S FAVOR?! eBay told them to return it for a full refund. I immediately contacted customer service again and she said the first representative hadn't made any notes on the case. She told me when I received the item back I could file an appeal but when I received the item back today they automatically Refunded the buyer AND because I ignored the claim as instructed and eBay had to step in, I didn't get my final value fee or original shipping label refunded.
So tonight I contact eBay India CS once again and was speaking to an agent when he put me on hold and then a woman came back on the line asking me to verify my information and explain everything again. I thought he transferred me to her but nope, he must have just put me back in the pool of customers so another rep would have to deal with me...she told me she can't guarantee I'll get the FVF or shipping back but would escalate it to some other department. When I Google it, it says if eBay steps in you don't get your FVF back...
I'm just so frustrated by this. A problem buyer makes a purchase, has buyers remorse and opens a fraudulent case and now it looks like I could be out $40 or so. I keep getting the run around and misinformation with all of these India CS reps. It seems like they don't have the power to do anything at all!
To top it off on Friday when they closed the case in the buyer's favor, I had another $540 item be returned to sender because there was no mail receptacle?? Now he wants me to mail it to another address. Not doing that so I guess I need to refund another $540 ughhh....oh and my Mom who got employee of the year last year at her job got fired by a new boss more than half her age because she just "wasn't a good fit on her team anymore"...oh but wait, that wasn't enough to deal with then at 11:48pm I get a request from another eBay buyer to cancel a sale!?! 😞
Sorry for the novel, I'm just stressed to the max with buyer's, non-existent eBay customer service, and life and needed to vent. I never ever have cancel requests, returns/cases and have never had a "return to sender" then they just all hit at once....

·1 year agoOn each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://www.facebook.com/ebay
https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.
