so called repeat buyers
I really wish ebay would not put "repeat buyer' on a buyer's FIRST item just because they then went ahead and bought something else as well.

·2 years agoI find this annoying too. It actually is the buyer's first purchase from me, they just happened to purchase multiple items. Each time I look it up to see if they purchased from me before when Repeat buyer shows up, sometimes it is true and sometimes it is their first purchase but for multiple items.
Seems to me that Ebay should be able to adjust the code to tell the difference.

·2 years agoLikely just the best that eBay could do/needed to with coding.
I see it.
I find it odd, but as it makes no difference in the overall scheme of life, so be it.
As it causes me no harm, I move along rather unconcerned about it.

I wish someone would make me an offer for all of them.

·2 years agoWhen I have a sale from a repeat buyer, I always perform a maximum 2 year history search to see what they purchased so I can make sure to match it or catch any mistakes. Also, buyers like it when you recognize their continued support and remember them as an individual and not a sales order. This has become habit for me to always do the 2 year history search and it will confirm for you that the repeat buyer is only a repeat because they purchased 2 or more items "today".
Before eBay posted the repeat buyer badge, about 2 years ago, I had made the suggestion to them about 4 years ago that they should alert sellers that a buyer was a repeat maybe by using a different color font on their username. So you can blame me if you like.

I won't blame you. I will credit you.

·2 years agoThe buyer would read "A seller you've bought from before" as they buy the 2nd item. Also annoying during one sitting.

OP2 years agoYes. This too.
First world problems I know. It's just annoying.

·2 years agoI really wish eBay wouldn't deduct final value fees from my sales proceeds.

·2 years agoA class action lawsuit is often recommended as the remedy for many of the issues that eBay users might have.

·2 years agoIt doesn’t really, some folks just need something to complain about.

·2 years agoI see it differently. While certainly not a high priority issue, it is still and issue for some seller.
Keeping in mind that there will be differences in how sellers track their sales history will contribute to this.
For me, I have a database built in Microsoft Access that I've entered my sales in since I started selling. It is helpful to know if the buyer is repeat buyer when I go to enter the sales in my records. It is just easier when they are actual repeat customers. If they aren't, then I enter all their info.
Again, not a huge issue and I don't think the OP is even saying it is a big issue, simply an issue that Ebay could fix within the coding of the software.
