shipping Label prices
I have noticed in the past few weeks that some label prices in bulk shipping appear way off or higher than should be. for example, the calculator defaults at 1 ounce until you plug in the weight and dimensions. it shows $7.46 for 1 ounce. or $8.06 for 1 ounce. if I plug in 13 ounce for the same it will show the same price. there should be tiered pricing for items under 16 ounces. typically 1 ounce is around $5.45 not $7-8 .

·2 weeks ago@nittany-lion-trading It is critical for ALL sellers to stay current on Carrier rate increases. USPS has been very busy doing this recently. Normally they have increases in January, July and October of every year. This year they did an additional one in August that affects rural addresses. If you follow the Announcement board here in the Community, you will stay current on this stuff. You can also JOIN the Announcement board on the right side once you are in it so that you get a notification of anything new that gets posted.

OP2 weeks agoUsps raising prices twice a year and now adding “rural” zip codes is getting to the point of where you can’t sell anything for under $15(used to be $10 a few years ago) soon it will be you can’t sell anything for under $20. Assuming free shipping that ebay promotes. When does it stop? I had a 1 ounce package that cost over $8. Meanwhile usps will offer standard envelope rates for sports cards at 78 cents for 1 ounce. Math isn’t mathing

·2 weeks agoFor the past Decade or so it has been 3 times a year. January, July and October. That started when Dejoy was in charge of USPS, while he is no longer in charge, they have continued this path.
I still sell stuff as do millions of other sellers. As long as buyers are willing to pay, we can sell. The thing to remember is the vast majority of sales are NOT to rural addresses, so this raise earlier this month doesn't affect those sales.
Free shipping on a listing is a choice. It of course doesn't mean anyone actually gets free shipping, it means the carrier costs are represented in the price of the product. While buyers use to really love sellers using that, it isn't as important anymore as buyers change. Many now want to know how much of it is shipping. So each seller just needs to decide for themselves what works best for them. The answer is not the same for everyone.
IDK about $8 for one ounce. I have not seen that, at least not yet.

·2 weeks ago@nittany-lion-trading In their 12 July Rate Change USPS eliminated the Ounce Tier Pricing for Commercial Ground Advantage Labels. So on eBay you will no longer get the Tier Pricing if you are Shipping to designated Rural ZIpcodes, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO's, etc and the price will change only with Zone, not Ounce Weight. As part of the eBay Discount however, you WILL see the Tier Pricing available when purchasing a Label for Non-Rural Zipcodes.

·2 weeks agoif USPS they have been adjusting rates & weight allowances for rural shipping. They have dropped segmented weight in many cases & default to a rate regardless of weight. Some rates meanwhile have dropped. It's been a roller coaster. ebay has no way of knowing on it's own what is rural or not. They depend heavily on USPS programming.
