Shipping HELP needed - Multiple orders for same buyer
Summary: licardguy initiated a discussion seeking help with shipping multiple orders to the same buyer. bdmh-enterprises advised setting the weight to 1oz in the label purchase screen to enable changes to ESE, mentioning that ESE can have a combined value of up to $50. Other participants in the discussion, including onlinecentral, kibble-net, and tobaccocardyahoo, were present but did not contribute additional details to the solution.
Hello-
Hoping someone can assist. A buyer has bought (3) trading cards from me via (3) separate listings. Each had a flat rate shipping of $1.32, for a total of $3.96. Now, Ebay is combining all the orders to one and shipping has moved from eBay plain envelope to USPS ground advantage. This new shipping is more than the $3.96 paid by the buyer. I realize that I may have to eat this now as I do not have combined shipping setup, and honestly I tried setting it up and its a bit confusing. Any help is appreciated.

Just set the weight to 1oz on the label purchase screen and you will be able to change it back to ESE.
I'll also note that ESE can have a combined value up to $50.

·4 months agoWas the combined value of the three items greater than $20? If so, that was why it switched to GA.
If you cannot ship as separate orders, it just adds to the pitfalls of ESE.
I tried it, didn't like it and the higher shipping costs may have helped my sales because buyers are buying more items per order.

OP4 months agoNo, the combined total of the cards is under $20, it pushed me to USPS Advantage it said due to weight, over 3oz.

·4 months agoYou can separate the orders and ship each individually with ESE.
Or you can ship using GA and take a small loss.
Up to you.

·4 months agoThere have been a few times when a buyer made 2 or more purchases and I shipped 2 or more packages.
One reason is that I had the perfect size boxes on hand versus spending an hour rummaging around to find a larger combined box. Boxes I had bought in a bundle of 100 + quantity specifically for that product to get the unit cost down.
The hour searching is worth $23.00 and the two boxes were 2 X $1.10 = $2.20 total. Plus the buyer had already paid the shipping.
a) Take a loss of $1.00 to $2.00 dollars and send Ground Advantage combined.
b) Take no loss and send 2 or 3 packages by Standard Envelope.
