Shipping Fees Deducted From Bank Before Payment Enters Account
I really miss PayPal doing all the processing of payments. Sigh. eBay is taking the fee for USPS out of the bank before the amount owed is in the account. So basically I have to make sure I have enough in my bank account to cover it. Might seem small but it’s really annoying. Any way around this? Do I need to wait a few days before shipping, which seems counterproductive. Also, anyway to return to PayPal for payments made to me as the seller or do I have to use EBay?

·3 years agoWe do have the choice of (default) transfers on Tuesdays. Which is like getting a weekly paycheck.
Or.
Daily, which would be easier to handle for very busy sellers with a lot of payments coming in.
Or.
Monthly, for small sellers who are worried about not having payments transferred to the bank at the right moment for the monthly fees.
And most sellers have been advising that we attach a bank account that is used only for online transactions, including those from all selling sites we use.
My question has been whether there is any problem with having two or more eBay IDs paying into one checking account. Anyone have experience with this?
For shipping labels, the fee is taken from the customer's payment before the payment is transferred to the seller's checking account.
Also taken is the buyer's sales tax payment which is a passthrough and listing options like auction Reserves*.
Are you talking about fees like PL or monthly Store Subscriptions?
*Note that Reserves are a non-refundable fee, even if the item does not sell.

·3 years agoWhen I changed my payout schedule from daily to weekly/on demand the option to use available funds was no longer available on the Manage drop down menu. By default, the cost for labels started being paid by my PP account which I thought was no longer connected to my eBay account. I went to change the setting and had to add a payment method. I don't know exactly when it changed but it definitely changed.

·3 years agops. that is NOT eBay taking the money out- that is Paypal! (if you are not using Pending Funds); You obviously have your bank account set up with PP for any purchases (after having $$ in your PP account) which is typical. Many set up the following with PP
1st Choice: $ in PP account
2nd Choice: use this credit card
3rd Choice: Bank account

·3 years agoYou can attach a credit card to your PAYPAL account. Then you add PAYPAL as your choice to print your Ebay labels. That is exactly what I have done. Ebay has yet to touch a penny of my funds for a shipping label. Add a credit card that gets you points. I did that and the bank account in Paypal has just a couple of dollars. I pulled out nearly all of the money to make sure that what I buy or print on ebay, the funds come out of a credit card that earns points. Perfectly legal too.

Odd. My shipping label fees are taken from the processing, or pending funds.
That is the choice I have made by scrolling down on my shipping label page before purchasing.
Possibly not for you as you do not have a lot of recent sales (treated as new, or occasional seller)

·3 years agoYou should be able to have it set up to take it out of the balance you already have, even if it's still under processing. I've always had it set up like that and never had to use my back balance to cover the shipping cost, even when we first started selling.

·3 years agoYou can ship immediately with no out-of-pocket costs. At the lower left of your label page, select that the fee come from 'Your funds' instead of 'Your PayPal account'. Easy breezy! Good luck.
ETA: No way to go back to PayPal... sorry.

OP3 years agoCan I set this up ahead of time or do you need to click it every transaction?

·3 years agoone time is supposed to do it, but I always check.
One day I did 4 labels. 1st 3 were correct. 4th charged to my PP. I did not initiate the change.
Others have reported that it also happened to them.

It is supposed to become your new default, but I am with @buyselljack2016... it's reverted on its own on me before.
My 'fix' to this is to just scroll down with each label now. Hey... kind of like "measure twice, cut once", you know?
