Shipping Details - New Page (Pop Up) Rolling Out?
I just noticed when I checked shipping details on a listing, a slick, new, easy to read informational page popped up instead of that cluttered, old circa 1990 shipping Detail Page....
So far, I like it.....

·3 years agoI don't know about you @monica-sells , but the pop-up is gone (for now) and I'm back to a "shipping, returns and payments" tab.
Maybe the team in charge of this is taking into account the feedback @kyle@ebay escalated for us?

·3 years agoI see that you have to click on 'see details' in order to get that pop up. I've always just scrolled down to the shipping/payments tab which is now defunct. I hope that buyers know to click on see details. Perhaps they already do...I just know that I never have.

·3 years agoI tried asking about this yesterday but my post seems to have been deleted for no apparent reason, so I'll try again today. Is there any way to see the shipping cost when you order multiple units with this new "shipping details" pop up? You could easily see it on the old shipping tab, but they seem to have removed that feature completely. I just want to know how much I will be paying for shipping on multiple units before I commit to buying. I don't think that's unreasonable.

I looked at a few listings with calculated shipping and as far as I can tell, no, there is not a way to change the quantity on the pop up to see costs for additional units. If you change quantity on the listing, the shipping price on the pop up does not change; it sticks to ship cost for 1 unit.
The only way to see that info on items using calculated shipping is to add items to your cart and change the quantity there.
Checked a listing that had flat costs - $5 ship first item, $1 each additional - the '$1 each additional' appears in tiny light colored text, easy to miss.

As a buyer this is more work and a big turn off for those of us that frequently shop multiples. A lot of items I purchase have a separate calc ship cost and I look to see how much it'll cost to buy multiples and whether that cuts down on ship cost per unit. Sometimes I'll look at 6 different listings for the same item and I'm not going to bother adding to cart to figure out if it's worth my time to keep shopping. I'll just go to another site to make my purchase.
As a seller I'll often go to the listing and put in a buyer's zip to see what the ship cost is on multiples because sometimes buyers ask me how much to ship X units and that's the fastest way. That now becomes impossible so it takes more time to go through the shipping calculator to see cost on different services based on various weights, try to remember any handling fees, etc instead of the simple one click going straight to the listing where info is already input.
As someone that helps other sellers on this forum with their shipping questions, this can easily triple the amount of work required to troubleshoot. One problem is you can still change location (incl zip code or country) on the pop up which is great, but when you add to cart it will use your default address so you cannot see shipping to different destinations on multiples in cart without adding a different (full) address to your cart. So trying to help sellers on this forum becomes nearly impossible when we can't adjust quantity on the pop up to see calc ship cost on multiples.

·3 years agoThanks for the reply! I'll use the "add to cart" method for now, but hopefully they fix it so we don't have to do these extra steps permanently. I agree, it is a turn off for buyers.

I frequently change my location when looking at listings on this board to help other sellers with shipping questions. Earlier today I switched between a US zip code to an international country, then back to the US. When you switch between countries it wipes out the zip code. So when I flipped from UK back to US, then looked at a listing with calculated shipping, the "see details" link was not there.
eBay needs to fix this so the see details link appears even when no zip code is entered. I had no way to open the shipping tab to enter a zip and see shipping rates until I backed out, entered a zip code on the main search page, then went back to the listing.
EDIT: I just realized that 'see details' next to returns pulls up the same pop up. So that will work for me personally, but it's not intuitive for buyers that may see 'varies' next to shipping with no 'see details' link.

·3 years agoYes, and I'm seeing it in more browsers now - except other browsers don't have that info notification bubble like I posted above, not even with a different account that hadn't seen the new version before today.

·3 years agoI like it, mostly because I presume when you close the pop up you are right back on the Description page instead of having to switch tabs. can you dismiss the pop up by clicking beside the bubble or are you forced to use the X in the upper right?
I'm asking because I'm still getting the regular tabbed version in both Chrome and FireFox.

not on Chrome or Edge......

Was the screenshot you posted an auction listing? Auction listings never show handling time.
I looked at a fixed price listing and the handling time is there. @kyle@ebay
There is no longer a shipping tab next to description. Instead you click the see details link next to ship cost. There was a handy word bubble, shown above, to call out the change.
