I don’t think the damage is caused by how UPS handles the packages. It is because UPS handles a lot more large heavy packages than USPS. It’s these large packages sometimes lands on the smaller packages that causes the damage. Especially when a seller doesn’t do a good job packing which is more common than not based on my purchasing experience on here over the years.
Well in the two years I worked for UPS as a sorter and bagger, I've seen employees throw, walk on, drop, and crush packages. It's possible these things only happen at the hubs I worked in, but I also saw many, many packages arrive at the hubs where I worked with boot heel prints, crush marks from getting caught in belts, and completely torn open. My comment is based on my experience as an employee, perhaps yours was different.
I absolutely loved working for UPS, but I would NEVER ship anything fragile with them.

·1 year ago...and keep in mind that if it's fragile, there's a good chance it's gonna get trashed. UPS is brutal.
