Shipping acceptance messed up
Summary: mikhirs shared an issue where a package they mailed was incorrectly scanned as 'delivered' instead of 'accepted'. Despite visiting the post office to have it rescanned, the tracking still showed 'delivered'. dhbookds responded, sharing a similar past experience where the issue corrected itself as the package progressed through the system, suggesting it might just be a delay in updating the tracking information.
Here's a strange question.
When I took a pkg to the po to mail off yesterday morning, by the time I got home it had been scanned as 'delivered'. I have the receipt. I went back up there and asked them to reset their scanner to show "accepted" and redo it. She stood there right in front of me and rescanned it. The tracking still shows 'delivered'.
Later in the day the lady who ordered it messaged me wondering why it was showing "delivered". I told her about what happened and that I went back to po and tried to straighten it out,. Told her I thought the clerk had the scanner set on "deliver" instead of "accept.
What do you think will happen? Thanks for anyone who may know.

·2 weeks agoI've had USPS package scans indicate that they left a hub and later indicate that they arrived at the same hub hours/day later. Never caused a delay in arriving at the final destination.

·2 weeks agoIt's happened to me ....the initial scan showing delivered.........but then corrected by later scans as the package moves thru the system.
Don't know how the 2nd scan would effect that.....the delay in showing any change may be just "lag" time in the 2nd scan being "published"......
Never had a problems with the item being delivered (other than buyer question)........
