Ship or no ship?
I woke up to a $75 sale.
A few hours later I received a request to cancel (message) from a different but similar ID.
I know I shouldn't cancel based on a message from a different user ID.
I messaged both user IDs and explained what I need her to do - request to cancel from the same user ID she bought it with.
If I don't hear back from her ... ship or no ship?

From what I saw in some Googling of the message, it appears that Akamai.net is having some kind of digestive issues and failing to provide content to eBay for stored listing descriptions and other data.

I also just noticed in the original message to cancel, she did include the order number ... so that's enough for me to cxl the order.
Now i'm bummed out for losing a $75 sale.
Costco chicken for dinner instead of a steak.

路4 months agohaven't tried messages, but been getting all kinds of "stuff" today.聽 bookmark takes me to main Khoros community page (sometimes) instead of this one.聽 Long time loading ebay pages.......my solds and/or actives show 0 sometimes when accessed by normal bookmarks.聽 聽All intermittent.聽 Firefox is up to date and am going to close and see if that cures it.聽聽

It depends on a few things if I would ship it or not. What鈥檚 the postage cost? Where is the package being shipped to? Is this item a good seller, can I move it again quickly, do I have a bunch of duplicate items? How likely will the item be in a different condition if returned? What do BOTH accounts feedback left to sellers look like? Am I okay taking a total loss on this item?

路4 months agoI dunno; mine are working fine, but you might try going to your email address that's tied to your selling account, and reading the copies of eBay messages that are sent there.

路4 months agoMy gut says to cancel, with the reason being Buyer Requested.
But if you want to be extra careful and wait for them to write back, a late shipping defect can easily be removed later. Just choose "something outside my control" when you apply to have it removed. The buyer's request and delayed response is technically the thing outside your control, so that ought to cover it.

路4 months agoI'm wondering if this has something to do with guest accounts being used for purchases, and the limitations placed on what you can do with a guest account. Maybe being able to correspond with a seller after a guest purchase is one of those things you cannot do, hence the second account writing to you wanting to cancel the first one's purchase. (I do not see this situation as being the same as those fake address-redirection scams.)

At minimum, that second account should be able to provide details to you that only the first account would know, such as the Ship-To: name and address that you received with the purchase. If neither account replies to you within a reasonable amount of time (such as end of today, since you don't have to ship on Sunday anyway), then pack and ship as originally intended.
