Sent buyer a refund after package thought lost. Ended up delivered.
I thought a package was lost forever in the mail. I issued a refund to the buyer and the case was closed. The item was able to be retrieved and was delivered to the sellers house. Is there anything I can do to have this person pay? Or return the item? I suppose I could leave a bad feedback but is there anything I can do to get paid?

·1 year agoThere is nothing ebay can/will do.
At this point you have to work it out with the buyer.
Hopefuilly they will make good on this.

·1 year agoI strongly believe eBay should allow the seller to send another invoice and eBay should provide Managed Payment as a means of the buyer to pay for the item they finally recieved. There is no valid reason eBay does not allow payment for a sale, even when delivery is delayed.

·1 year agoif the seller had the same time to refund as the buyer has to return it would help a lot. also ebay is to blaime because I had orders to take over 30 days to arrive and ebay said they would arrive in the 3-5 day range.

·1 year agoWhen this happens to me i usually send an email along the lines of - I'm pleased to see that your item has finally arrived. If you still want it you can have it for (knock off an agreeable amount from the original price) by way of an apology for the delayed post etc.
As said most buyers are honest and pay up, especially with a cut price incentive.

·1 year agoNothing can be done here. Buyer is not obligated to do anything. You issued a refund so you as the seller shouldn't expect the item back. There is no negative feedback for buyers only for sellers.

·1 year agoWell if the buyer is an honest person(most people are in my opinion) they should be agreeable to pay. I have had around 3 cases like this and I have rec'd pmt. thru Paypal without any problem.

·1 year agoNot sure why you would give a refund just because you "Thought" it was lost in the mail. Never give a refund until the Buyer starts the message of INR. Then you can try and work it out with the Buyer.
They are under no obligation to pay for or return the item once you gave the refund. With all the crazy weather we have had packages have been delayed for days if not weeks and then add in the extra packages for Christmas we are lucky anything gets delivered on time.

·1 year agoAll you can do is ask them to return it or see if they'll repay, but no way to make them.
As far as leaving bad feedback, why?
Sellers can't leave bad feedback for buyers.

·1 year agoSellers have been unable to leave negative feedback for buyers on eBay for about 16 years.
The most you can do is send a polite message to your buyer, stating how you would like them to pay for the item as it can’t be done through Managed Payments.
