Sending corporate a letter, eBay needs to get their act together.
I am seriously starting to feel that eBay's IT department has left.
Ever since the outage late April, there have been so many random issues, like the shipping label page, that have still not yet been fixed, WEEKS LATER.
If eBay was a small fledgling company, I could excuse it, they have tens of millions of buyers and sellers. They have thousands of employees.
Phone support is often non-existent. Literally. The option to receive a call is often gone now. Sometimes the only option I get is to email them.
When you DO reach someone, the company they use now is so incredibly suffering from overturn, they put you on hold for 5-10 minutes and reply with something that had absolutely nothing to do with your question, transfer you to irreverent departments, or just hang up on you. Few understand English well and I have to speak to them with vocabulary like I would a six year old.
I had a payout issue the other day, and despite repeating myself 3 times, they kept trying to walk me through how "to add a payment method at checkout".
You cannot reach someone in America anymore, so what used to be a 5-10 minute call is now a frustrating 30-40 minute one with random holds, or they are repeating what you literally told them to "kindly make sure I understand you".
The Instagram team they had was good at first, now replies take hours, and they would rather sit and argue with you as to what feedback extortion is rather than just simply remove negative feedback that violates policy, twice now they have gone against eBay's own policy and removed the comment, but not the rating. Yes, eBay does have a policy where they sometimes remove a comment but not the rating, but this did not apply in either situation, they just did it to be petty.
If you reply after 2-3 hours, they send some snarky message about how this "is not an instant line of communication" despite being hilariously obvious to the fact they call it "instant messaging" for a reason. Not "2-3 hour later messaging". That is what EMAIL is for.
I have no clue what on earth changed, but I am sick of this lack of support.

·4 months agoThis happens to me on Pirateship (including the tiny label) when I forget to just download the label (you don't need that receipt, everything is online now and far more accessible than pieces of paper). When I simply download the label, it prints properly.

·4 months agoI am having the same issue and the person I talked to today was very nice but unhelpful. My shipping labels are printing about the size of a playing card. And that is the shipping label and receipt. It worked fine until recently. It should not be this hard to fix but yet they can't. I sent her the email with my label and hers printed better but still not correct. The label was in the center, and the receipt was all around it instead of label on one half and the receipt on the other! this is very frustrating. She did mention they had an update from Pitney Bowes but I don't think it is working and they need to go back to what they had before because IT USED TO WORK FINE!

·4 months agoThis sounds like you are having a problem with printer settings.
Change your settings to drop the reciept entirely, you don't need it. I have literally shipped at least 50,000 orders between my accounts and the ones I managed for others and never once printed one.
Then get your printer settings correct for the labels.

·4 months agoThat's not a ebay problem.
That's a computer/printer problem.
Ebay has nothing to do with that.

OP4 months agoI have two Instagram accounts. I messaged eBay on my other one and they responded right away.
My message to them on my other account Friday afternoon and this morning have gone unanswered.
So it appears someone on the inside blocked my other account from messaging them. This is such **bleep**.

·4 months agoIs this somehow hard to understand? Quantity clearly shown on orders screen, clearly shown on the bulk shipping screen for those who do that. Someone SPECIFICALLY CHOOSING to not look at or package the order until they already hit the ship button for a single order from the order screen seems like they are creating their own problem.

Instead of complaining about how bad eBay has been treating you. Have you thought about voting with your feet and plying your wares on an another platform? There are plenty of options these days and eBay isn’t the only game in town.
I understand you have options with Mr. Zuckerberg, Mr. Bezos, Mr. Newmark, Mr. Faison, Mr. Slavov, and others are very good options I’ve been told. Plus you have the option creating you own website. I’m not recommending any of these as I am happy right where I am but have heard from others leaving eBay how much better they are doing.

I don't ever recall ever seeing a Chinese seller on these boards. Maybe you should find something else to sell so you don't have to compete with the Chinese sellers if that is a problem for you.

·4 months agoYes there is one. He goes around reporting me to the mods. He calls me a Racist & a Bigot. Multiple times he's accused me of being a Racist & a Bigot.
The thing is I've never said anything Racist or Bigoted on these forums Ever.

·4 months agoFrustrating? Absolutely! Sellers (including myself) who have been on here for a long time, will, from time-to-time forget to lower their expectations when trying to reconcile a problem, which leads to more frustration. We also forget about the ever-changing TOS we agreed to, which adds even more frustration.

·4 months agoI am confused as to why you need constant support after being a seller for 12 years?
I do just as much volume as you do and have never once needed to call ebay on the phone.
What is this shipping page issue you are talking about? I am certainly not encountering an issue with the shipping page and neither is anyone in my private seller chat group, zero mentions of it from any of them.

·4 months agoIt was this:
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Report-eBay-Technical-Issues/Missing-data-amp-errors-in-new-Buy-Shipping-Label-form/m-p/35612029
Looks like they set out to make some change to how multiple-quantity orders were shown on the page (so for instance that a seller would know to ship more than 1 if the buyer had actually paid for 3) but ended up losing or mislabeling other data at the same time. A great example of how they tend to hire programmers who do not actually sell on Ebay or even use the page that they are working on.

·4 months agoThey had to redesign their entire shipping page because no one there knew how to update the old one. And of course, the new one had to go through the usual rough seas until it was usable. I think they have a serious documentation problem in their IT department.

·4 months agoThat’s typical of customer service in 2026: big corporations did an analysis and it costs less to lose customers who require CS than to pay to provide it.
Your letter to corporate would most likely end up in the special file cabinet for such letters.
