Selling VHS Movies New and Preowned
I have been selling on e bay for years however I purchased a large lot and included was new (Blueray sealed) and preowned VHS movies everything from Disney to action and adventure, romantic comedy etc..... What is the best way to lot these up? A medium box holds 18, the larger box holds 30 or more. I have checked them, removed all of the old stickers, and now should I list assorted movies of all genres? Separate them? I must have 500 or so and would like to sell them asap. What are they worth? $3.00 each?

·3 years agoI had a lot of VHS tapes where I recorded off TV. Those could not be sold as they would violate copywrite laws.
The other VHS tapes I had that were bought from the publisher have not sold. Most of mine though were railroad and now NASCAR items.
Please do not throw in the trash. There is a company that recycles video tapes that I used, but I can't remember their name. They charge for it but the shipping can be media mail. I shipped mine over a year ago.

·3 years agoNew Blu-ray should sell but VHS tapes are 50 cents at Goodwill and end up in the trash because nobody has a VCR player anymore.

The last two VHS tapes I sold brought $150 each.
The vast majority of the ones I see at local sales are not worth a nickel.

·3 years agoAs noted above, you ship via media mail so the size of the box matters little. Yes, sort by genres. And to be honest, for common titles you would be lucky to get $3 per title.

·3 years agoGoodluck. Very few people want those. I have seen them in yard sales for 25 cents and no one is looking. My local library no longer wants them as donations. Look at the ebay solds and see if you find one that sold for good money and then see if you have it. You have to factor in to the shipping fee. So if you sell them too cheap, after your ebay fees and shipping fees, will there be enough profit for you? See what the others state.
I threw mine away years ago. I sell with 2 other accounts and have been here since 1998.

·3 years agoTheir individual value could vary quite a bit, depending on rarity and demand. Check with eBay completed listings.
To assemble lots, think of themes that might interest a buyer: children's movies, action, scifi, romance, etc. If you have several that feature the same famous stars that would be another way to group them.
You're more likely to find a buyer if you offer Media Mail shipping, since it's so economical.
